My car is a Fiat Punto Evo 1.4 2011 Dualogic w S/S.
I have just installed a new dashcam which connects to the 12v cigarette lighter, it came with a plug in rear camera too, however it looks like that camera needs to be wired into the lighting circuit separately. My question is, can I connect the camera to my 12v boot cigarette lighter (i.e. splice the wires in)? The instructions (alhtough in poor english) say that it is recommended to be connected to the reveresing lights (which look to be 12v switched), would it work the same (but permanently) if it was off the boot cigarette lighter?
