For information:
If the aircon is not working at all, but the heater, fan etc all work, then it might be a blown fuse. Some part of the aircon circuit shares a fuse with a 12V socket, so if the 12V socket gets shorted (e.g. with a cheap phone charger) and blows the fuse, then it knocks the aircon out too.
This happened to mine earlier in the year, and changing the fuse sorted it.
Worth checking if your aircon is not working at all in this hot weather, and may save the cost of an unnecessary re-gas !

Fusebox under oddments tray, on driver's side: Fuse 9, 15A

It's in the centre of the photo - the blue one with no number on it.
