Hi all, had great fun on Sunday 21st replacing discs and pads on youngest daughters Ibiza 1.4. Drivers side took 2 hours... rusted in grub screw, couldnt get the slider pins back in... well got that sorted, passenger side done in 15mins.... Anyhow, I have mentioned this before but since we bought the car the clutch pedal has felt heavy, jerky and squeeks / groans, it all works fine, bites halfway up the travel and doesnt slip... I will be lubricating the pedal assembly.
BUT... I looked on Seatcupra.net and these clutch cables on RHD models seem to be a bit of a baitch to swop, anyone done one and got any advice? Plus, the pedal boxes can be frail and welds come apart when the clutch goes stiff. I'm hoping its not trouble with splines in the clutch or anywhere else in there.
I remember Big Black Stilo had loads of trouble with his but this car has been and is fine, except for the clutch thing.
I plan on buying a Genuine V.A.G. clutch cable, just wondered if and FF'ers have done the job themselves, any tips, suggestions or ideas welcome
