I like a clean 6n polo (nice one in the link btw) but prefer the 9n gti. I'm guessing that it is out of the equation though?

Its not out of the question, it wouldnt be much more to insure than my punto but its just finding one near me, the advert i posted is the only decent looking one within 30 miles of me and the GTI's are like £2k and i cant afford one of them aswell as increased tax, insurance and petrol prices

Here let me tickle your fancy some more ;)

And it all fits back :)

would you not consider another bigger engined punto, or perhaps a barvo/brava? or maybe go the other way and get a sei/cinq?

Im looking for something quicker than my punto so a cinq/sei is out of the question and i cant afford to insure an engine transplant one lol, not keen on the bravo's or brava's and i was looking at getting HGT but they are mad to insure for me all of a sudden. I was going to get one a couple of months ago and insurance wasnt bad at all but its shot up now

lol euro vans are pretty cool and can be practical too (if you have enough cash for air bags too :p)
But ive decided on a VW polo 6n2 GTI if i can find a GTI close and cheap enough for me (BBS split rims as standard (y))

I think this sums up why you should keep the Punot...

Here we go ladies & gents, this is a proper 16v Induction;

this is the results of attempting to fit coilovers to a Punto...

obviously we had problems with the suspension, so we focused on Andy's induction kit. we found that his 16v induction would fit his car for so reason .. So we attacked it with a Hack Saw... now we still couldn't get it to fit properly. It was kind of jammed down behind the ABS System. it came down to losing the brakes or the ability to change gear... so we came up with the ingenious idea of using the original filter pipe and our butchered 90degree bend. and this is what we came up with

yes, that is Duct tape holding the thing together, but this is only temporary, and in the future some type of adhesive glue will most likely be used, or more duct tape :D:D

now the sound that came out of this concoction can only be described as awesome, it sounds so much deeper and nice than a lot of other induction kits (y)

Now all you need to make this yourself is;
£35 Toyo Sports Induction
A hacksaw,
A Fiat Punto 1.2 16v Sporting,
Roll of Duct Tape,
Lack of Common Sense...

I think this sums up why you should keep the Punot...

haha that was an awesome day! Its still holding though, not had to change any tape yet, but will be taking if off soon though to start putting it back to standard as i can. Not gonna bother changing the lights though because i cant afford to buy a new set that are standard then selling these ones.

As for the van idea, i think id miss having light in the back of the car tbh lol

Move on!

What about an Alfa Mito?

Theres a few that are stunning and insurance isnt killer?
1.4 Multiair TB or even a 1.4 16v?

What sort of budget have you got?

Cheers
Tom

that polo looks awesome,
if you get one, and want it to be truly unique, take of the fiat and punto badges off your punto before she goes, and take off the vw badges off your new polo, and replace with the fiat ones.
it will confuse people , be truly unique :p, and put up the value of the car :D.

lol that would be very confusing to see that!
Im gonna go look at this some time soon, got aftermarket alloys but i would change them after winter anyway or get some center caps and shine them up to hell and space them out a bit after lowering :p

If I didnt need a reliable daily commuter/ had alot more money so I could have a second car, then I would love to get my hands on a Renault Sport Clio 172 in white and smooth it to ****, sit it on its arse and put it on some banded steels.

Buuttt....
I hate insurance and running costs :(

You will have to still be a VERY active member of FF when you become a sheep ;)

Much Love

lol yeah i have been a member on here for coming up 2 years now! and ive got a fair few posts now ;)
I just find that this forum is the best one because all the other ones that im on are like a little group of people who dont like new people joining in if you know what i mean where as everyone (pretty much) gets on with eachother on here!
I was going to get a fes a while ago too but i decided against that lol but im going to go see the GTI tomorrow at 3 and if i like it, gonna get a mechanic friend to get it up on the ramps and check it over properly then put a deposit down most likely!
