I do like the Toyota, BUT if I had a choice I would be tempted to go for a twingo, they look really nice imo

You test driven one?

OMG. Shocking. (n)

And another French car, like 99% of them, that they haven't converted from LHD to RHD correctly :bang:

Dammit!

 Kia Pro-Cee'd, £7,950 in white, 1.6 petrol. 2 years old, 11,000 miles with 5 years Warranty left on it...

Hmmmmm.... cant find much bad said about them, plenty good stuff.

Its no warm or hothatch I know... but IMO very Stilo-esque in appearance with a hint of Audi A3...

Ticks a lot of boxes... even to the point of accepting a slghtly bigger car. Now then...

I like! Kia are quite under rated TBH.

And a "Thanks" to the Mod who turned my Cicic into a Civic lol! (y)

So the shortlist is :-

Yaris 1.8 SR
Twingo Cup
Kia Pro-Cee'd
Hyundai i30

Thank all for offering up those suggestions, the months ahead will be interesting! :D (y)

Yeah I test drove the Clio 200 and the Twingo! I might be really weird but I found them fun to drive compared to my Old Fiesta! I would have gone for a Twingo if the price was right, but they were just out of my reach!

I guess I can only compare it to what I have driven before :D

Great looking but a "flawed design" according to Auto Express.

test drive one :) if you can live with the slightly small(ish) boot then its great :) thats the only real negative....plus i have to admit the new facelifted one doesnt photo great but in the metal is gd :)
im just deciding between a dirty diesel 2.0D or 1.6 petrol atm..but i cannot afford a new 2.0D :(

I'd like to toss the SEAT Ibiza FR 1.4 TSi into the mix. Seems OK - good engine power, insurance group 11, quite attractive, not very common...

EDIT: Ooops - just noticed. Mr Ffoxy said no turbo :(

EDIT 2 :p : Mitsubishi Colt Ralliart. Oh no, that has a turbo as well ;)

I viewd a Kia Pro Cee'd lunchtime... and was impressed by the solid build and accurate panel fit, interior is well screwed together, couldnt test drive it cos it was sold. Looks Ace in white! (y)

I have always been curious about Kia,for the price they seem and the massive warrenty they offer, I always seem to assume that the ride not be amazing, I suppose I should go drive one and see if it dispells the feeling I get from them

Stated as being almost as good as the Focus, not a bad benchmark TBH. 1 of the things I am curious about too Leigh. Supposed to soak up bumps very well, but the Pro Cee'ds wider wheels do provoke some tram-lining, I'm used to that with the GPS though. I'm very tempted, for the money. Hyundai i30 is on the same platform & better spec'd but the Kia shades it for me looks wise, and the interior looks better. Hyundai "only" have a 5 year Warranty too...

I can speak for the fact that my 2.0d S40 (C30 is a shortened version) has been the most reliable car I've ever owned.

1.6 petrol is too slow for a car of the C30's weight though...

I give a firm nod in the direction of the Kia. I drove one for a few days late last year and I was well impressed.
Mrs was thinking of getting a Toyota Auris next, but she's now set on the C'eed.
Sure, it doesn't handle like a Fiesta ST for example, but I imagine you're not planning on throwing it around in a Clarkson stylee.
The ride is good, the interior is good quality stuff, plenty of power for normal driving (1.6).

I really really liked it (y)

In one word? :p

Mr Ffoxy. What's your aversion to turbo charged engines? lol

I want to try a conventional NA engine without having to worry about "warm downs" Garree. A simpler life I guess, I've had a great time with the MJet but its time to change... (y) (well in 12 months anyway!)
