Touch wood in my Stilo (1.4 16V Petrol/LPG, which is also running a sequential LPG injection set-up), I've not suffered myself, although for some reason my friends 2002 Fiesta has interference from MY Stilos engine when he's fiddling with his squelch, and he's the same base unit as mine. Strange lol.

if you get a mag mount get the large large one. shouldn't have any scratching issues. blokey in second post must of had the piddly little mag mount. look at my gallery, 4x4 with roof mounted mag mount. never moved a mm even through bushes/trees.!! says it all really. right equipment for the job!!

however in your case get a mount on that roof bar with a quick release, £3-5 on ebay.

central as poss on roof for best signal, and make sure you get an swr meter or borrow one, cause if you get to much reflection from the twig being badly swr'd it'll blow the output circuits of your rig and seriously hinder any transmision or receiving capabilitys.

dad had cb since 81 and played with them since so know me stuff.

you can get filters for that, you need to put inline filters on electrical parts, like you would for older radios in older cars, remember , you could hear a whine go up in pitch with revs. LOL, oh the good ol days.

was going through the polling thread. just noticed date on last post LOL

considering your comment perhaps threads should be locked for viewing only after a time period? just a thought.

Ahhhh, the good old days of the CB radio, first there was Aunty Mary, then there was Fairy Mary and for those who had a bit of spare cash, the sidebander.
Oooh, I've got a President Adams - but you can't see it as it's in for repair - yeah, right.

Fond memories of the many convoys to the seaside. Going mobile round blackpool meant putting a car battery into a shopping trolley, bolting the twig to the cage and away we went:D

wow i really need to get a picture up of my car. i have 2x 9 ft aerials on a lip mount at the back of my car, on the boot hatch. one of them is a 9 ft tank wip tuned to 27mhz and the other is a Diamond NR-22LH tuned to 145mhz (2m ham band)
i run a wide banded Yaesu ft-857D does HF, 6m, 2m and 70cms all modes.

i am a radio ham, but i still use the CB more >_<
as you can picture, my car looks quite funny with 2x 9ft whips on the back.

i need to take some more pictures of the car so they will be on my facebook album soon (link in sig)
