If you want to look really flashy you have to spend some serious $$$$$$. But if you want a personal plate something that means something to you... I see no problem. I plan on keeping my K plate from my current car for my next cars. I think flashy ones look crap unless they spell clever things like PEN15 (this really exists) , but G4ZZA well err no thanks.

I want something with BOX at the end.

Like N100 BOX..

I considered buying L900 BOX for my 899cc Cinq, but spent it on the Sporting instead..
And I dont think BOX 1242 would be cheap!!

We had this discussion about a year ago, I just personally think that if you have nothing better to spend serious money on like that you could give it to charity. For me it's just so shallow and superficial and I fail to understand it. A friend just inheritated 3k and he bought a personalised numberplate, if somebody did that with money I left I would haunt them! It has no benefit, it's of no use to anybody IMO.

I won't go further, I am sure you could find those comments if you did a search.

NB: this is my personal opinion and I am not trying to press it on anybody else.

Personally if i have that sort of money I would have plenty of ways to spend it - usefully.

I do have to agree with you paul, it is a TOTAL waste of money, but probably something i'll buy in the future!!!

Paul- I did a quick search but didn't find anything......

I respect your views;) but I already give to charity so want to spend money on some of the finer things in live.Lol (y)

I can't say I have anything against them, well my forum name reflects the one on my integrale, but then the car did come with it.

I did toy with the idea of H15 GTT when I had my Renault as it looks like "HIS GT T urbo" but after it sitting on the DVLA website for about 6months at only £400 some else bought it.

I also liked the look of L11 TBO for the Cinq i.e. it would look like "Lil Turbo" but thought there were better ways to spend my money, & its gone now as well.

I did see a MINI Cooper S with FA51 CAR looked like FAST CAR which I kinda liked as well.

If your getting it as a present, then why not :)

I have promised myself it is something I willt ry NEVER to change my opinion on it, if i ever decide to buy it, I will try my hardest to make a donation to a needing person/charity. WHen I have enough money to buy one, I will have enough money to give it away. For me, it's not even like putting a body kit on the car which does have an effect that you can see, the plate is barely visible. I would spend the money on performance if I HAD to spend it, £300 odd isn't throw away money for me.

OMG sunday at noon in the tower park complex... You really think im leavin my car in that car park ?... it will be jam packed in there mate..I would be like, sweatin my ass off wondering whos gonna key it or smack it with a door just for the sake of it...
lol.. if i go shoppin with the mrs I make her walk from the furthest parking place in the lot and I will only take her on a weekday morning..
I was in a shop one day, and I parked in a space all on its own, and some stupid woman and her mother decided they wanted to park next to me..of all the places..dumb cow ... i was lookin out the window at the time and i knew as soon as i saw her pull in, that she was gonna be a thoughtless bitch. I got back to the car just as she managed to turn around and swing her handbag (with metal studs on it) and hit the car...
I said
"WTF do you think your doing you soppie F***in c**t, you don't even think because your so stuck up your own f***in a**e to think about other people's things. If you f***in scratched that car you gonna pay for it you stupid cow. "

Then i said.... "Oh Hi Mum"..

lol..the mum bits not true :)

So you see I may not be the best person to have around if thats where we would be parkin ..

P.S. Please excuse the french as its the only way i could get the story across..

A privvy plate is only another mod as far as I'm concerned, it's just personalising another of your possessions so why not?

My reg is SAZ ***2 and I've toyed with the idea of my next car being SAZ ***3 or whatever, at the time I bought it, from a distance it looked like SA5 ***2 so folks though it was new, well the dumb people did.

Not quite in the same league, but loads of london busses have BU5X XXX, one on a regular route from me is BU53 BUS, which I thought was quite cool for a BU5.

EDIT: I really am not that sad as to notice all bus registrations, but when you're stuck in traffic (which you usually are in london) sometimes things catch your eye...

I could never see the point of personal plates either. I know it is just another appearance mod but they don't improve the appearance of your car they just make you look vain. That said it's up to people what they spend their money on.

My great uncle used to have COE 3, cos he was the third son and surname Coe. There used to be a Merc went round Bournemouth that had the reg CD DISK, which doesn't even make sense, compact disc disk, what.

KoArAnG, as far as parking at Tower Park is concerned, I have parked there, probably over 500 times and never had an incident, outside my house is where the car gets ****ed. I usually park up near the UCI and Pizza Hut in amongst all the other vehicles, but on a Sunday at that time there are usually loads of places you can park that are nowhere near any other cars.

How long is this thing planned for, cos I've gotta get back from London, pick up the kids and see my Dad on that Sunday as well.
