im thinking of getting the 1242 engine but being a bit poor at doing things myself (although my crowning moment was fitting my disks myself!) i wondered if you knew how much something like that would cost to get fitted? how much torque does it have? would my exhaust i have now fit onto it?[?]

still cinqmeister good to see who's in charge!

The 1242 has about 30% more torque than the 1108, it really makes a diference. You're looking at a day for a garage to change the engines over, probably about £200+ labour, plus £150 or so for an engine. Your current exhaust will fit if you either lengthen the downpipe or put a spacer in between manifold and downpipe.

If you're going to do it, it's the Punto 60 engine you're looking for.

wasn't the cinq the original though, my old man use to have one 30 yrs ago!!

Heard the cinq was a brilliant car back then so my vote goes to the cinq!

Yeah the Cinqs a good car but obviously not good enough as they bought out the Sei to replace it.
If it was really good surely Fiat would just keep building the Cinq???
