Hey,

I was thinking before, my 100HP is no push over, it really has plenty of go once fully bedded in.....

Ok, ok 100HP is setting no benchmarks but as the weight is so little it really does fly but I just cant help but think 100HP as a name just seems a little adventures in my eyes as to alot of people 100HP is not much but they dont understand power to weight ;)

When this car was first thought about it was named the Fiat Panda Sport which in all fairness, I like... Maybe not as adventures as using a name like 100HP but I like.

What do you guess think;

a) Remove the 100HP badge and have a Sport badge on instead taken from the Suzuki Swift Sport purchased from Suzuki

b) Keep the 100HP badge as thats its name and I should just respect Fiat for being so adventures :D

I like the name 100HP!!
'Sport' is a very standard name that many other carmanufactures have used for their Sporty-look cars which hasn't the power of an 100HP.

If you say you have Fiat Panda Sport, the most people think it's a Panda with the looks of sporty cars with a normal 1,1 or 1,2 engine.

So,keep the 100HP-badge, i prefer!

He he!!!! 140 bhp

The thing is, 100hp isn't adventurous at all, its merely stating the engine output albeit in metric horsepower as i guess 100 sounds better than 99. ;)

'Sport' is a bit of a slag of a word, i mean look at the Aygo 'Sport'. There is nothing sport about it, all it has is a rev counter and alloy wheels to differentiate it from the non-sport Aygo +.

Given that the 100hp has a number of unique parts to the model, i think its fine. The only other moniker i could thing might suit, would be a GT, though even thats a misnomer to an extent as GT of course stands for 'Gran Turismo' (ie Grand Tourer), which it isn't, really.

So Fiat were effectively very honest in their badging of the Panda.

How about just "Panda HP", it is High Performance in Panda terms.

The ultimate badge?

£7.50 ish of ebay.

Hey

I really wouldn’t hold any hopes for Fiat releasing a Panda Abarth... I think Fiat are thinking abit more realistically and when they press released the Abarth brand they made it clear that the Grande Punto Abarth is the first of its revival followed by the new Fiat 500 Abarth with new Abarth booster kits that would be available for selected cars within its range.

So what am I thinking?

I think that some sort of booster kit/pack will become available to the Panda 100HP, most probably comprising of enlarged brakes (perhaps Brembo), turbo kit for the 1.4 that would put the Panda 100HP at 150, maybe improvements to the suspension (if possible ;) ) and perhaps an optional Abarth kit/extra's i.e 100HP badge replaced with Abarth badge....

I also think the 100HP will stay the flag ship and just simply offer the Abarth upgrade as a package extra when purchasing the 100HP new...

Prices I would imagine would be around £1500 - £2000 for the kit with fitting as they wouldn’t want to take the price of the Panda towards the GP Abarth...

Regards

Adam

I think they will do a Punto Arbarth, which will compete with the Clio 197, Fester ST etc. Then the rest of the business focus will be on their hot new model, the 500. As nice as the Panda is, they don't want to confuse the marketing message - Pandas are selling OK anyway, they need to pump up the 500.

Maybe in a year or two once (if) Panda sales are dwindling they may need to revitalise it. I do not expect an aftermarket upgrade to be available though.
