my wife always having the habit not to wait for all the computer to finish diagnostic the system before starting the engine was caught by surprise when the computer sudenly shows "engine failure " sign.

beside that the ecu of the dual logic also shows some problem that did not change the gear on time and some time didnot change at all even the computer display shows "A" sign. the worse part is every time the gear change, the engine rev higher as it did not signal the ecu to cut off the fuel on time.

when i come back...tested it my self and said to my self for sure i had it this time and planning to go to fiat for a check-up

luckily...

this morning all the simptom just disappear. like it just reset by it self overnight.

notsure whether it will come back again...

so ...always wait for computer to finish diagnostic before you start the engine...it not that long actually about 5 sec..

I also have the Dualogic, and have noticed that the system adapts to your driving style. I mean, if you floor it, it'll take a while before it changes the gear, and it'll keep doing this for some time after the "flooring".

The same goes for hills: if you go up a steep hill, the revs will go as high as 4500 and you'll be thinking "change the gear already!". But again, it'll keep changing at high revs for some time after the hill as well.

I found it concerning at first, but now I know where it's coming from.

the problem that i am facing was when the gear change automatically, it suppose to cut off the fuel (as normally you would have to lift off your feet off the accelarator when you change gear in manual car) but it doesn't, so at that point of time the engine is in "free" as if clutch depress and the accelerator kept pressed so the engine rev higher

It could be some damp that got into the computer system & as it dries out it then corrects itself.

i would suggest humidity as the units are quite high up in the engine bay, and to get water ingress into the ecu's this car would have to swim!:(

 well not so lucky again...the simptom appear again today ...
already get my wife to send to Fiat

apperently they do not know what is the problem...so they just re program the ECU.

according to my wife on the back home ..looks ok ..so far...
