hi, on starting my 55 panda mj ,( unused for a couple of weeks ) i revved it up to 3,8oo rpm a couple of times. eml light came on dash. i plugged in a multiscan ms300 & it showed code po226 . ? any ideas. cheers, steve.

i wouldn't be too worried

some of the sensors don't work too well with a low battery. No idea why as the alternator is pumping out 14.1V

If its still failing on a fully charged battery try blowing compressed air at the throttle peddle sensor

hi, brand new battery fitted. no idea what a c circuit is ! will try compressed air suggestion.dash only flagged up eml when i revved it too much ( 4000 rpm) car been sat on drive since end of july,(but moved back and forwards once a week).cleared codes at least 15 times, pressed throttle pedal lots as well, eml still on. used maxiscan ms300 code reader.will have another go at it later. cheers, steve.

So you've had several cold starts with not getting to normal operating temp?
Then it probably teached itself to overfuel now. I'd disconnect the new battery for a while and only start it if you plan to acually drive it.
Disconnecting the battery gets it back to defaultvalues.

hi, removed & recharged battery,. blasted pedal area with compressed air, sprayed electric switch cleaner:idea:,left it overnight, refitted battery, started engine. eml light straight back on:confused:. every time i clear the code, start, light returns.at least 10 attempts.:bang: but at least its revving better. thank you for any info/advice guys. steve (y)

there's two separate sensors within the pedal it reads both. If there is a mismatch between what's it expects then it throws up the code.

normal a bit of dust under one of the wipers can be cleared off. Your improved but still persits then a pedal from the breakers shouldn't be to dear

There are some YouTube videos of them being stripped and fixed in India where parts are difficult yo come by

I don't how many different types there are. The dualogic ones are definitely different. Diesel don't know. I would expect cross compatibility between the 500 and Ka mk2 and possibly the later Puntos

I just checked ePer and the diesel is missed of from the right hand drive cars
but its listed as a different part number on left hand drive cars

So its likely that only pedals from a diesel Panda or 500 will work correctly if you have to go down the S/H route

dont give up

worse case is a pedal. Have you reseated its electrical connector

hi, i checked the 6 pin plug on the accelerator pedal, and it seems fine. no corrosion or damp.. i tried the panda on various roads to see if the eml would reset itself. it didnt. on pulling away acceleration is poor. foot nearly to the floor. top speed 45mph in 5th. got back home tried again to clear po226 code & eml. have now removed pedal (n) and collecting a used 1tommorow, just hope this will cure the problem.;)any idea if a 1242 petrol & a 1248 diesel ( 169) use same accelerator pedal ? best regards, steve (y)

1.1 and 1.2 are the same. Diesel are different

Someone mentioned that the duologic used a different pedal but isn't mentioned on any ePer

hi,accelerator pedal on( 169) 1.1 is fitted with a cable.;) ( my m8 has 1) ive fitted a pedal from a 2006 panda 1242 to my 2005 diesel multijet(.a bit difficult, as i am 64 ,) but its exact fit.:) car seems more responsive. dtc po226 now gone along with eml on dash. im happy its fixed.(y)(y) a big thank you to everyone who offered advice /info. regards, steve (y)
