panda active eco 1.1 2009 ....hello,has anyone had to replace or repair their master cylinder?...i have a slight leak from mine and have been qouted £161 just for the unit itself.....surely there must be a repair or seals kit by now....i cant find any new cylinders other than from fiat dealers, and i really draw the line at that price considering the world and his wife seem to be flogging the slave cylinders for less than £30.....i dont want to just bung a second hand unit on,as next month i could be in the same boat as now....any experiances would be welcome.

If you don't want to pay the price then put up with it but make sure to keep the fluid reservoir topped up.
Then you can keep your fingers crossed a cheaper solution will turn up.
£161 sounds expensive but they are 320 euros in rest of Europe.

I would be surprised if there wasn't a clutch master cylinder repair kit about somewhere

Might need to take the number of the side of the master cylinder and a few emails..

They're not too badly priced on Ebay..
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_...RS0&_nkw=panda+clutch+slave+cylinder&_sacat=0

Repair kits seem to be available:
http://www.ebay.ie/sch/i.html?_pgn=...se&_nkw=fiat clutch slave cylinder repair kit

I would imagine that one Fiat repair kit is pretty much the same as a different model Fiat from the same era.

Having said that, the difference in price between an Ebay cylinder and a repair kit isn't a lot, and it's quicker and easier to change the cylinder.. A further point to bear in mind is that the bore can become ovalled due to wear and a repair kit won't really do much in the way of repairs.

If you're set on a repair kit, ask at an independent car spares shop. They'll have access to Mopar catalogues/info. Mopar made a lot of repair kits.

It's not all slave cylinder stuff , the eBay title is wrong saying slave cylinder . Click on the link and you will see it is a master cylinder complete with fluid reservoir .

I can't find one on eBay, the Shop4Parts price is £103.33 plus postage, and as already mentioned, donated FF members get discount.
There is also a picture.
As these cylinders are plastic bodied, there may not be any spares kits available.

Bet the for KA2 is the same as well.

Someone got to be the first to try. LOL

I'd guess it probably is the same. Worth a good look if at the right price.

Ford FINIS code is 1756773. Pics are a bit vague, and look quite different, but like the earlier model, so perhaps pics carried over. Can't find one for sale, but price appears to be around £50-60, so possibly not worth the risk.

Be careful with Shop4Parts, you have to add VAT to the price, and postage.
I've already shown you this one:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-GENUI...w~gRV2E6g&clk_rvr_id=1249604601478&rmvSB=true
£25 and a few days wait.

If it needs a slave as well, CarParts4Less: http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l...6450ce4576882a07b7ca53304f8621333b48c8&000072

Not difficult to fit either or both, and mine bled easily too.

LUK are an OE supplier, and I believe the only manufacturer of this part, so wherever you find it, it will be theirs. So don't be too worried about it being in an OE box or not.

This is all assuming a 1.2 petrol.

I just picked up a slave cylinder for under £40 (complete with the looped pipe) from a local motor factors. However, they cannot get the master cylinder and even cross referred it to the 500 still no joy. Fiat only Sir. Sorry.

The slave cylinder from Shop4Parts is double the price. They do list the master but only as a full set with reservoir etc and costs well over £100 with VAT. They want (loads) more for "just" the hydraulics than the actual clutch assembly.

The Schaeffler website has no images and seems to be information only. At least, I cant see any way to buy from them.

It's a tough call. Search eBay for "Ford Ka+ clutch master cylinder" and the second item on the list is a Fiat 500 SLAVE cylinder. None of the masters advertised look anything like the Fiat unit.

Search "Ford 1756773" and you'll get one item for a Ka+ but it's in Germany with an image of three boxes. Cost is £65 plus plus. I'm sure they must sell loads of whatever it is they are selling.
