I'm new to Panda ownership after years with another marque, so my idea was a 30mm drop, 16" 6.5 Brava/Bravo steels with tyres that have a similar rolling diameter as the 155 80 13s my Panda Active has. Anyone have a similar idea or thought? I do understand that ride height and not much sidewall will have an impact on the ride, but that's something I've had years with

Have a look at
http://www.oponeo.co.uk/advice-and-tips/tyre-size-calculator/155-80-r13#alternativeTireTool

I don't know how wide you can go but I know 165 is listed as standard for my version, so on that basis you can fit 165/50 R16 at -1.2% under sized or 165/45 R17 at 0.4% over size or 165/35 R18 at-1% undersized it is recommended that you only use options within 1.5% and -2% differential.
If you use the http://www.willtheyfit.com/index.ph...2=60&wheel_size=15&wheel_width=6-5&offset2=35 website it will tell you how much your speed will be under or over relative to the change you make.
No idea if wider tyres/wheels will fit.

i had considered 165 45 or 50 16 with a slight stretch on a 6.5 or 7" steel, and yes, Oponeo is where i looked, the wheels will remain black, any help on what et the current wheel is and what i may be able to get away with? many thanks for the help so far

I just posted on the 15" thread...

Didn't realise the 195 would fit. Good call
The ET varies on fitment
155 is ET41
165 is ET38
195 is ET35

I want to get bigger steel wheels and leave them black with no trims on. I'm thinking if we go to the same size of the 100hp pandas sized wheels and tyres we should be ok or does the 100hp have a different steering rack to stop the tyre making contact with the body etc??

I think your thought process is spot on. Can't see that there would be any difference in the 100hp rack or inner wheel lining etc.

Been there, done that with new Bravo 16" wheels and 175/50/16 tyres! 16x7 et 31 I think they were!

Dropped it on coilovers and the tyres scraped the arches very very occasionally over harsh bumps at the front!

As for the 100hp wheels/tyres, I don't think there'd be a problem, but from what I remember the 100hp does have a reduced steering lock to prevent the wheels fouling the 6 speed gearbox!

Yes, i had on a previous Panda typ 169 - 1.2 Actual, 16 inch wheels.
I had it lowered with springs by "AP Sportfahrwerke", 40mm lower at the front and 30mm lower at the rear.
Wheels where black steel Bravo wheels in the size 7Jx16" ET/offset 31.
Tires where 195/45R16" Dunlop Sport BluResponse.
No issues what so ever, it drove great.

Here a picture.

Got 16's on mine, but haven't got round to lowering it yet.

6.5Jx16" ET/offset 35. ;)
This wheel have 2-3mm more space on the inside compare to the 7Jx16 ET31 Bravo wheel.
But a 195/45R16" tire sits wider on the wheel compare to the Bravo wheel, meaning tire need more space on the inside. ;)
The wheels is 10-11mm less wide on the out-side.

You could use a set of these in the centre holes. ;)

You can lower the back end with 500 springs. They are softer than Panda springs. Adjust heigh t by adding a rubber seat to both ends.

I could've done... But I got rid of said Panda about 18 months ago and moved on to much better things... ;)

A nice 170bhp turbo and a Multijet Cross! One goes fast, the other goes anywhere! (y)

There's a set of 16" FOX alloys going for £80 in my area that might interest me. Using 165 65 14's at mo I would need to go/could go 185/50 16. But how will the ride be, will it be hard, like jerky on my old back...

Depends which model you have. If it's a 100HP then it'll already be hard. You'd need to make sure they fit - right PCD, right bore and right offset. You could end up chafing with the wrong ones.

On our 169 Panda we run 185/60-14 as standard and 195/50-15 (Punto 6x15 Wheels) as winter tyres. No obvious difference in comfort. Plenty more grip, no chafing.

My cars a 2011 Multijet and sorry to say that after thinking of it, I'll not bother. What if their damaged. No spare. I've no spare at mo anyway just a compressor and sealant injection I don't intent to use. Might be better to fit other Fiat alloys, like 100hp ones.
