Technical 100HP rear axle on eBay £80 BIN

I'm sure it would physically fit, but the back brakes (discs) would be too powerful and the ABS is probably not compatible.

his reason for sale is odd. where did he get an upgraded axle from, i didnt know such a thing exists?

Does anyone have the part number or recommend a supplier for a new 100hp rear beam axle. Mine has suspension cup rot. Ta

The 100HP has four rubber hoses. The best option is a new braided hose from the underfloor hard line to the brake. Fasten it down with grommets and clips.

Also implies the disc and drum axles are the same across the range and only the 4x4 are different

Would make life easy as a S/H 1.2L from a local breakers should be cheap as chips.

plenty of good ones around. Not sure why some rot and others don't ? Bad batch ?

My 05 06 and 11 have all been Good and non have been looked after or treated

If I remember correctly the stub axles are different from disc brake to drum brake. But it's been a while since I had mine apart. ;) Maybe someone can check as the Forum EPER does not cover the 1.4 while going into detail boy the 4x4.

I’m not 100% but I know there is a version of the axle that has an additional anti roll bar, I don’t know if the panda 100hp has that, but if it does it’s possible the abarth has a stronger anti roll bar

Its better to stick to standard set up

Insurance is going to go up considerably for any modifications

The suspension is designed as a compete system even down to the axle width front and rear being different

Millions are spent on R & D and hours spent on computer simulations

For example the KA has a rear anti roll bar. But the spring dampers and front wishbones are also different to keep the whole system in harmony

99.9% of time you are driving well within the grip of the car. However ice, diesel and so on can catch anyone out. You want the car to behave in a predictable way.

As for as I know the 1.4/1.2/1.1 and diesel all have the same axle its only the bolt on parts that are different. Obviously the 4x4 is different. Finding the correct axle shouldn't be to hard. Keep it simple.

The 500 and the Ka have the rear anti roll bar axle. The same axle went into the Mk3 Panda.

The 169 spec axle was fitted to early 500s. Fiat fitted the ARB because Ford told them the 169 spec axle was not good enough riding for their Ka customers. The ARB required softer rear springs to account for the stiffening effect, but everything else is unchanged..

The ride on our 1.2 Dynamic on 155-13" steel wheels is MUCH better than standard. My kids were the first to comment.

The 500 axle WILL NOT fit the 100HP. It's too wide and will cause the tyres to foul the wheel arches.

Easily overcome with a change to wheel offset or rolling the wheel arches. If you want to make changes to a car then there are plenty of ways around these things. Even fitting some shims to alter the camber could change the wheel angle enough to avoid the wheel fouling

modifying the suspension needs to be declared to your insurance company. Expect a 50% increase

KA and 500 have different front suspension as well to compensate for the wider rear axle width and anti roll bar. Fiat didn't just an ARB and increase it width not sure why should know better ?

The 100HP has wheel arch covers so cutting the arches would not be an easy option. The axle is not a straight swap for larger wheels.

Except of course for the ARB, the 169 axle is identical to the 2015 500 axle (can't say about later). The 500 version has different axle brackets that set the stub axles away from the swing arms. Everything else is the same - stub axles, brakes, pipes, shocks, etc. Even that off centre little pip on the cross beam bottom edge is the same.
