Hi all,

I own a 1.1 Active (petrol), and in the last 2 weeks, i've filled up with petrol twice. Last week, I drove 155 miles (same route twice a day) and used a full tank of fuel, and yesterday and today, i've driven 62 miles, and used a quarter of a tank.

Is this low or high, and if anyone knows, is this what I should be expecting? Can anyone advise on how to fix this?

I've had the car since Feb 2015, and have been driving it more or less everyday since I passed my test in Dec 2015, and have never had this problem before!

When was the car last serviced?
Particularly, when was the air filter last changed?

Presumably you have already searched for any fuel leakage?

The air filter is often a likely suspect.

Also check you don't have a brake sticking on.... Check the temperature of each wheel after a drive. One hotter than the others means a binding brake, which can have a serious effect on fuel economy.

You need to work out how many MPG your using and if it altering. Can't tell from the information given. You can loose 50% depending on driving style.

I have got 64 MPG out of the last 700 miles with fairly extreme economy driving. Ounce you get over 50 mph the MPG starts to rapidly go down especially in a headwind. With aggressive driving you can fetch it done to the 30s MPG

That with the 1.2 the 1.1 is pretty similar. I would be quite happy to carefully drive another 40 miles for when the low warning light comes on with the 1.1.

Low tire pressures will affect your mileage badly.
