General Panda Phone holder

I couldn't find any interesting phone holders on google but did find a cup holder.

As far as I could find, the vents in the Panda are not of a design to take the air-vent mounts. I ended up with a magnetic CD slot mount as I stream my music, and the CD slot is perfectly located for mounting a phone.

I got an air vent phone holder by Case Logic which works fine for me. I would only occasionally need to use my phone for sat-nav as I'm relatively good at remembering places I've previously been. The only thing I would say is that you need to work out placement of the holder by your phone size. I upgraded and found that with a bigger new phone I couldn't indicate left as the holder was very much in the way.

And I put a 'sticky pad' on top of the dash. My phone is just placed there and seamlessly connects to my Jabra, which then states in a Darth Vader voice, 'Connected'. The Jabra is permanently clipped to the sun visor and the wiring is concealed.

This setup has now been in place for the last eighteen months without any problems. Simple and effective.

A screen sucker mount on driver's side lower quarter. Get one with a long arm so you can reach the phone.

Bluetooth is the best then phone can be put where ever you like.

New Mobile phone rules for in the car starting 1st March:

**6 points and £200 fine for using a mobile whilst driving**

No Verbal Warnings
You cant touch the phone if its in a cradle, even if you stop at lights and even if you're parked up with the engine on
If you want to use the sat nav on a mobile or plug the charger in, you must set it up before keys are in the ignition and don't touch it once engine is on
You can't scroll for tracks on your mobile while driving so have your playlist set up before entering the car
If you work for Uber or the like, you can't touch the phone when the engine is on. So you can't accept work while your on the move
Mobile can only be used if you're parked up safely with engine off and keys out of ignition (Wireless keys - engine off)
(Death by dangerous driving is now life imprisonment, no longer 14 years).
You can use a mobile via built in-car technology like bluetooth. However, if you do have a collision, it can go against you.
You can't use headphones
You can't use loud speaker from your phone
You can't move your phone while the engine is on

Do you get the impression that mobiles and cars do not legally mix well?

Thanks for the replies everyone :)

I've no interest in using the phone to talk to anyone while driving - that would spoil the journey. Plus no one would hear me over the top of my sound system (y)

Sweetsixteen that's exactley why I want the holder - and would probabley mount it in the far side air vent :) so I can't reach the sat nav and be tempted to touch.

My Panda has the round vents.

Magnetic air vent holder search in emay pulls up a load of types. which do you use in the Panda please?

There was an oem phone holder available that slots in the cup holders, not sure if it's a main dealer thing but I'm sure I've seen them on eBay.

That's funny... looks a bit like my dish washer ;)

Hope that's not going to get me banned lol

I was so shocked by that picture that I dropped my phone into the coffee cup I had between my knees. It made a right mess of the car seat and the earpiece cord got tangled in the steering wheel. How very dare she. ;)

I really do appreciate the issues of phones and driving, but TBH it has got silly. Radio tuning is ok. Finding a music track on a phone sitting its it's cradle is not ok.

It also does nothing about people who place their satnavs in the middle of the windscreen blocking their view and causing glare at night. Some people must drive by what the (satnav) screen shows. Using the widescreen TV on the front of their car is an option.

This is now a very good reason to have the voice activated Siri, Cortana, Alexa, or whatever working.

Here is the magnetic holder that I bought. I hope that the photographer is displayed the correct way found this time.

It's too wide for the fixed vent

It's too wobbley in the air vent.

It's in the way of the key if you put it in the gap above the fues box cover

I've stuck it in the CD player.

Will let you know how I get on... and ask the Mrs to take a pic of my phone in the holder in the car lol.
