hey so ive had a look around and cant find it recently boought my self a fiat panda 100hp (76000 miles). at first i thought the car was just loud from the rear due to it having no sound insulation. you usually gets louder either higher the revs or my speed im not sure. but basically when i turn right (enough to make it lean a bit) it goes almost instantly. it sounds like its coming from the rear which is why i thought it may be the exhaust. but due to not knowing what it might be i dont know what to look for.

Probably a wheel bearing or possibly a sticking brake caliper, jack it up and give the wheel a spin with the handbrake off (make sure the front wheels are chocked) and give it a good side to side tug, if it moves and makes a rough sound it's probably a bearing and if it appears to stick while spinning then it's probably a caliper.

From personal experience I can tell you that even with no movement at all it can still be a bearing. I was convinced it was cupping on the tires:shakehead:
Pretty easy to replace the bearings though. 20-30 minutes each side.

I'm having the exact same problem in my active eco. It was mentioned last time the garage had it that my breaks were on the way out so I'd assume it would be that.

Wheel bearings can make a horrendous noise. Ideally get a pair as the other side wont last a lot longer.

You will need a long breaker bar was the retaining nut is VERY tight.

so thanks guys , ill have to get round to doing it becoming really annoying for me, since a few people have said wheel bearing im convinced. ill let every one know as soon as i get to change it for future reference. any suggestions where i can order a pair from? cheers

I have always used Shop4parts. They might be a bit more costly than eBay or Euro but they don't stock rubbish and they know what they are talking about.
