Does anybody know if the Panda and early 500 (and possibly the KA) share the climate control actuators?
The subject seems to have come up a few times lately and I was struck by an idea...
I've just seen 3 KAs being sent for crushing and they were pretty much complete apart from engine/gearbox and seats. I know of another 2 which are about to follow them to the great scrapyard in the sky, so is it worth trying to grab the actuators?
My Eleganza is in need of one or possibly 2 of them so I was going to attempt to grab them anyway if I can, but if anyone knows that they definitely don't fit then I won't bother.
If nobody knows, I will try and remove a set and pass on the knowledge.

Grab the whole heater assembly though it seems the problems are due to plastic parts breaking on the flappers so they cant be moved.

Be interesting to find out though for those with climate control.

Just had a chat with the breakers yard. Going to try and get whole unit out of a Ka that's been stripped ready for crushing, but won't know if it has climate control until I get there. If it hasn't then I'll have to wait for another. Not that much of a rush for me, as heater works for screen on lukewarm at the moment.
Mates rates on heater box if it's any use, as it wasn't going to get taken out anyway. Apparently there's no demand...
Worth a few quid just to find out.

Well, that was a wasted trip... non-climate control version. There were 2 others and a 500 but they were all manual control too. Was hoping to pick up a set of seats too, but none were really good enough to bother with.
Will keep an eye on incoming ones for a while. Bound to be one with climate control soon.
Be nice if it has some good seats too...

It was, at least on the Titanium model. The controls look to be the same as the Panda/500 although in a different colour. All the crashed ones I've found so far have been Zetec or Studio models.

Annoyingly, there was a Titanium in the pile on the truck that gave me the idea in the first place. It was already loaded so no chance to inpect or scavenge though.
Think it had black or dark grey (leather?) seats as well (although at least one of the front ones was wrecked). Grrrrr.

Oh well, I'll keep trying.
