I have an annoying general fault light and message for a broken parking sensor.
New sensors are on ebay for 12 quid.
I have the free version of mutliecu scan and all the various colours of adaptor leads for my obd interface, can I use the demo version of multiecu scan to find which sensor is duffo?, or do I need to try each sensor with the new one and see that way, that would take ages as the fault is intermittent.

Don't be a tightwad.

If you're going to use MES for something useful that'll save you £££ over taking it to a dealer, then pay a few shekels to those hardworking folk who've put the time and effort into developing this most useful tool; without it, we'd all be at the mercy of the franchise & we know what that'd likely cost us.

Nope sorry I'm a tightwad.
The only reason I havent got the full version allready is that I've been done before buying stuff thats sposed to be all singing/dancing only to find it doesnt do as claimed.

I'll re-phrase the question if I get the full version can I diagnose individual sensors.

Just watched a vid on youtube, the geyser used what he said was an inductive probe to test them, I recognize that gizmo as a wire tracer, and I have one, and I tried it, only one of the 3 makes the clicks, the probe picks up data going to the other 3, but no pulse or click from the transducer.

Apart from damp getting into the sensors, another reason for their malfunctioning is paint.

If you've had any respray work where a sensor has been blown over, this sometimes throws up a fault. Careful cleaning of the sensor face usually fixes this one.

Thanks I'll try that, there might be some overspray probably from it was tarted before going on sale.
I'm not going to the dealers for a parking sensor, warning lights and beeping are not as bad as that.
I cannot reset the service reminder with the trial version of multiecuscan, as far as I can tell I'm supposed to be able to, so buying the licence wouldnt fix that, what I probably need is compatible hardware.
That said the parking module definately does need the licence to access according to multiecuscan, and injector recoding.
If I need injectors I'll get the licence if not I'll clean the parking sensors/check the connectors then swap out each one and see if that finds it, might pull a couple of a junker at least they'd be original, would the originals be marelli?
Thanks for the info.

I have a new old sensor, when it stops raining I'm going to have a play, I'll clean the existing sensors, would gentle use of t cut be ok?, then clean and contact cleaner spray the connectors, if that doesnt work I'll start swapping in the new sensor on each one and see if it clears.
Its started faulting every startup now so it would be a good time to try.
Interestingly if I leave the car in reverse for a minute or so that fault will start to come & go.

Well thats this problem sorted, I replaced each parking sensor at at time with the newun and it started working ok, course it would be the last and the most difficult of the 4 to get out that actually fixed the problem.
