Didn't you find the 100hps tendency to squash your discs between your vertebrae at the sight of a speed bump a tad annoying ? Is the Mii REALLY that bad or are your rose tinted specs spoiling it ?

I've had all the Panda engines except 1.2 which I'd guess might be my fave .The 100hp is a track car for the road .....

It was by far my least favourite after the two 1.1s and 1.3 I've ran .

I still think I'd love an Up! Etc .I WILL grant the 100hp had a BMW like door slam that no other Panda and few small cars possess .

Don't be put off by mileage, I've clocked up 11,000 miles in my HP since I bought it in may, now over 101,000 miles on the clock and have only had an o2 sensor give up (average lifespan of 100k miles so couldn't complain)

90k, one owner, full (mostly dealer) service history, bodywork original, I paid £1700 plus my old battered merc (£300) and the panda is faultless, so much so I'm taking it on a 3000 mile five day road trip in July, just familiarise yourself with what to look for, keep an eye out, and do what you think is right. Which is buy a panda of course...

No. I didn't find that at all, although most of my passengers did. I mean, you had to watch out for speed bumps, yeah, but that's the price of driving a go-kart!

The Mii is not hopeless, but I find it unrefined after the Panda. The 100HP engine was so responsive and flexible in every gear. The brakes were awesome. It looked so smart.

Oh, yes, I forgot the door slam!:) I could be tempted by a non-100HP, if there's one that's such a good all-rounder. The Eleganza ticks a lot of boxes, but that's quite and elderly model now...

...I must admit I am beginning to be tempted by a 500, after all. The Abarth is nice... very nice, but of course the insurance is a bit of a stinger. Come on then... someone give me the low-down - what's a good warm-hatch option???

Peugeot 207 GT (The GTI does more but costs more).... People will scoff as it's a Peugeot but you're on a Fiat forum so you must be used to vehicular ridicule lol.

The 207 is crazy cheap as it's a second hand Peugeot ,doesn't scream of try hard in the style department and has respectful power/speed without pillaging the mpg too badly.

I would scoff at the 207 not because it's a Peugeot, but because it's so goddamn fat and ugly!! Park a Grande Punto or a mk3 Clio next to 1, and you have to wonder how bad the 207 owners eyesight is!!

I made the same mistake with my 100HP and I dont think the new Panda holds a candle to it. My new on is OK, but I will NEVER love it like the 100HP and I want mine back too.....

The new one is very competent but I think the Mii is probably better.

At least my new panda still looks a little Panda like, but that's where it ends.

I want a new Panda in the future. Currently have a 1.2 '05 model.

Everyone says the new one is nothing like it... it's almost as if they're saying don't buy it.

Would you recommend getting a new one having experienced both?

PULLED THE TRIGGER on a 2010 Fiat 500 By Diesel. I srsly like the look of this little baby. I saw one of these when they first came out and I thought they'd specced it nicely, but it was a bit expensive new. Feel like I'm back in the fold, and back in my comfort zone. Have to find a realistic price for the Seat washing machine, but hey-ho. Thanks everyone for opinions. More anon.

The 500 has something a VW cannot.. style ;)

Enjoy it!

Absolutely DELIGHTED with my new non-diesel Diesel! What is it about Fiats? In my opinion they just HAVE it. As SB1500 so adeptly put it above, "The 500 has something a VW cannot.. style". Which of course is true. But it also seems to me the Fiat is approximately three times better constructed and six times better-thought-out than the Seat.

...for the first time since July I am ENJOYING DRIVING AGAIN!!!

Woo-hoo!
