Hi,

Picked fit up and drove it for 150 miles today. Noticed following issues.

1. Aircon making a metallic chirping noise. When it's off it stops. Must be the motor?
Anyone tell me how to access the motor and apply Wd40?

2. Stiff and squeaky clutch which seems to click at times. Was in an underground car park and the external squeak was very audible.

3. Stereo panel rattles? U sure what you guys have done there. It stops when I put pressure on bottom panel join.

4. Slight rear clunking. Might be the rear suspension?

Apart from that. Nice car lol!

Don't know how far away you drove to get it, but might be worth asking the garage you got it from about it.

Sounds like the clutch stiffness/noise is quite possibly the pressure plate, which could mean it's due a clutch replacement. You also can't just WD40 the A/C compressor - it might be the clutch again (but in the AC compressor this time) on it's way out.

You checked the rear beam for rot and to see if the bump stops are still there?

Also, is it a standard CD player still?

My miss's bought a 2010 HP about 6 weeks ago with 78k miles. Her clutch was making squeaky noises last week it was proper bad. I ended up changing clutch last week the release bearing had collapsed. Put in new clutch and clutch fork. £87 for all parts. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but you will need a new clutch very soon trust me. By the way the Panda multijet is the same clutch.
 
I bought a Punto HGT with exactly the same clutch symptom. The clutch pressure plate has failed. The pedal lumpiness and stiff action is caused by wear ridges on the spring fingers. You need a new clutch.

Clunking from the rear end could be missing bump stops (get some from Polybushes) or knackered rear shocks or both. It could however be a badly fitted exhaust pipe rubbing on a panel somewhere.
