Hi

For some time the clock on my 2007 Panda has been resetting on start up. Basically the entire dash goes blank when I turn the key and then everything comes back on and the clock is reset. The rev needle also sticks and shakes at zero for a second.

On top of this, I have an intermittent stalling issue which I suspect is connected. Both times it has happened I have turned of the ignition and then restarted it again (due to bad parking lol). The engine starts up and then as soon as I take my foot off the accelerator it stalls and all the dash warning lights come on. This continues to happen throughout my journey and only seems to correct itself if left overnight.

I have today removed the battery and checked the voltage. All seemed fine. I hooked it up to the charger as well to make sure it was completely topped up but the dash issues still carry on..............

Any ideas?

Check the earth points. It could also be an alternator issue.

A voltmeter to watch the system voltage as you drive will help a great deal to diagnose what's going on.

As above, welcome, and check all earth connectors.
If no improvement, clean ECU multiplugs using proper contact cleaner (disconnect battery first)
If still no improvement, it is probably the battery, even if it tests OK. Depending on age of battery it may be worth changing anyway.

The engine stopping when maneuvering seems to be related to battery voltage dropping when power steering motor is pulling a lot of power.
This is usually battery-related, but checking earth leads and cleaning connectors is free to try, so usually a good first step.
