Hello all.

I've just picked up this 100hp and I couldn't be happier. It needs a few of bits doing to it however and that is where I would love some advice!

First of all tyres, both the fronts need replacing badly the rears are mismatched and of different ages too so I think having the whole set replaced would probably be the best move. I've read a couple of threads and seen the different options, I'm still not sure which I should go for though. Eagles F1's, Yoko S'drives or any others advice would be appreciated!

Second is the front discs and pads as well the rear pads. Again if anyone has any recommendations for these that would be greatly appreciated!

Finally is the service and cambelt which both need doing very soon! I am based in North London and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a good fiat specialist in the area I would be happy to travel 50 miles for a really good place. Also from what I gather cambelt and service would total about £300-£350 is this accurate?

Lastly I would like to extend a massive thanks to all the past and present 100hp owners on this forum as your knowledge helped me to not buy a lemon, can't thank everyone enough!

Cheers
Eddie

The price seems good for a cambelt and service.

I can highly recommend Toyo Proxes T-1R tyres.

welcome, nie panda and best colour :D

i ran uniroyal rainsport 3s all round on mine, cost 57 pound a corner and honestly the best tyres ive ever had on a car.

brakes, id go with OE, i thought they were really good and stopped the car well.

Hard to beat grey on any car, the Panda especially!

I will take a look at rainsport 3s as well then.

Thank you!

As above, Rainsport tyres. The only thing I would suggest is that you switch to 195/50-15 to give you a bit more cushion. The wheels flat-spot VERY easily.

The increase in profile from 45 to 50 makes no noticeable difference to performance.

For brake disks/tyres I used Eurocarparts - you have a range of choices on there.

I've never used them, but R Proietti is up in N7 and Veloces are in New Barnet.

I've used Gonnella Brothers in Catford a few times, their prices are good and they know what they are doing, but that's South London.

With Brakes, go for Pagid from Eurocarparts, they're German quality and the discs don't rust up as badly as others can due to a special coating.

Over the years I've found original Fiat brake consumables aren't the best!

Many Thanks for your help, looks like I will go with the Rainsports, I will check out the eurocarparts options now.

Cheers I'll get a quote off R Proietti and Veloces and if they are good use them/

Remember - Eurocarparts, like DFS, always has a sale on.

They are generally cheaper online than going instore (bizarre I know). At the moment they have SALE25 codes which means 25% off the price you see on screen.

Just replaced the tyres on my 100HP and cant recommend the Uniroyal Rainsport 3's highly enough. I also changed the size to 195/50/15 rather than 195/45/15 and wow! The difference it makes to the ride is much much better.

Camskill have them very cheap at the moment:

The 45 profile tyres at £43.80
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s92p...Eff_:_E_Wet_Grip:_A_NoiseClass:_2_Noise:_71dB

The 50 profile tyres at £32.95
http://www.camskill.co.uk/m53b0s99p...Eff_:_E_Wet_Grip:_A_NoiseClass:_2_Noise:_71dB

For brakes also look at ECP's online only version of the company www.carparts4less.co.uk Brembo disks for £15 before adding the discount codes, which get you £5, £10,13 depending on what you spend, also you can maximise the discount by having multiple orders :)

Thank you so much for the Camskill links, you've just saved me at least £50, the 50 profile tyres are remarkable cheap!

With 50 profile tyres I have no complaints about the ride on the stock suspension any more. They take most of the harshness out.

With the increased circumference of the tyres I find that the speedo is nearly on the money so I do find myself being a bit more careful around speed cameras.

Thank you, I've just ordered the 50 profile tyres and look forward to trying them out. I didn't consider the affect it would have on the speedo, thank you for pointing that out!

I've tried quite a few different tyres on the 100hp and the ones i like most are the Kuhmo Ecsta HS51's i have at the moment, mighty impressed with the grip in wet and dry.

The sat nav should show actual speed regardless of tyre size wear etc.

My bike is currently reading about 4mph slow at motorway speeds (wire rear tyre) the sat nav keeps me on the right side.

Ha! Funny I just came on literally minutes after seeing that Panda on AT and noticing no mention of cambelt and that the MOT history showed front tyre advisories - I was just about to ring the guy and ask him some questions about this but it's sold now of course!

Well done, looked a nice late one in good condition.

You don't have to answer this naturally but would be interested to know how much you got him down to?

How grey is the grey - more silver than grey would you say?

I was looking for 2010 one, much prefer the look for some reason.

I got him down enough to cover the repairs needed ;)

The grey is quite dark definitely not silver.

So after 600 miles in less than a week of ownership I am absolutely loving it!

I've sorted out the tyres, service and cambelt are booked now it's down to aesthetics!

I'm getting the wheels refurbed soon and I am going to get it detailed soon.

Something I really want to change is the wheel caps(the red bit right in the middle that says FIAT), mine are faded and somewhat spoil the look of the car. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get new ones. I've tried ebay and google but had no luck!

not my car or picture

Many Thanks

Had similar problem finding centre caps. Bought 3 sets before we found any good ones. Eventually found some repro ones on eBay from an Italian company.
Can't find the details at the moment, but think the seller was called something like "car passion". Quality was way better than the others. Don't bother with "sticker" types - they look pretty awful.
