I've fitted a new regulator (as per previous post drivers windows was help up with a piece of wood)

Now : when i open and close the passenger window you can hear the RELAY under the steering wheel click and the window goes up and down as it should.

However : when i press the drivers window switch NOTHING no click Ive checked the fusses and 47/48 are both sound (20amp).

Does each window have its own relay ?

I've looked under the dash after removing the dash fuse board cover but cannot see any relays..

Does any one have a photo of the relays ?

I'll pick up a multi-meter to check the wiring hopefully tomorrow.

Any other suggestions ?

thanks....

There has to be a separate relay or they would both move at the same time.

Do you have power at the new window motor? Do you have power at its switch?

Are you certain the switch actually works? Not sure how much of a pain it is to swap over with passenger switch on a Panda, but probably worth a look.

That's why I asked about power at the switch

Unplug the switch.
Set to volts and check for power
Set multimeter to amps
Use the prods to short across the contacts as the switch would do.

Hi thanks for responses so far. I've switched the switches (passenger for driver) and the switch works fine. There is power to the switch (I only know this as the led lights up, I've no multi meter at the moment)

The relays for the windows are located somewhere by the steering wheel fiat box as you can here the clicking of the passenger relay engaging.

The fuses and relays under the bonnet have no relivence to the windows. I've checked that all ready.

Just leaving to pick up multimeter.

Multimeter collected.

Power to the switch (all the same as the working passenger window)

Positive connections from the door connection to the motor for both wires so there are no split wires in the door

What's next ?

Hi Rich,

I am having a similar issue (ish)but with various different body electrical items brought on by the Fitting of an aftermarket stereo! It would appear that there are a number of relays internally (my best guess) in the lower relay module/fuse box/ecu thingy (name dependant on where u look/who you ask)... if you remove the plastic panel to access the fuse box (lower one) and I also removed the riveted in metal plate which is *completely* in the way....and put your fingertips on the plastic casing with all the connectors and fuses on it , you should be able to feel the working relay clicking as it activated! Unfortunately this is all I know at the moment, but I can update you at the weekend as this has been the preliminary reasearch before I head to the parents (with lovely cosy driveway and garage and tools galore!!!) at the weekend and take the ruddy thing out.....oh, there are what looks like unfastening clips on the side of the 'magic box' (for lack of a better name) they look like they would make it open up in some way??
Should be fun finding out!
Good luck with your endeavours , please let me know if you manage to pull a rabbit out of it or summit because something tells me I'm gonna need all the help I can get....

Al

You catch my drift yah?
