Hi, My rear washer jets are not working. Quite possibly a fuse, or something worse!

Does the panda 1.2 05 plate have a separate water bottle/pump for the rear washer wiper or is there a very long tube from the main tank? So looking forward to winter!!!!

I had a similar problem with my bluebird and it turned out the motor was kerphutt

Ok any help advice most welcome

Having a working rear washer is not part of the MOT, so that at least is one thing you don't need to be concerned about.

For some folks, it might take the urgency out of this situation and buy a little more time to sort it out.

The front and rear wash/wipe use a 15 amp fuse number 53 for washer jets, So if the fronts are working but not the rear it sounds like a blocked jet or the pipes come off the jet. I'd pull the pipe off and try it to rule out the jets.

It is a long pipe from the washer bottle at the front.
Does the pump make a noise when you try the rear washer?
If so, the pump is OK, and the pipe is probably disconnected (or the jet is blocked)
If pump makes a noise and nozzle is not blocked, try to find out where water is coming out.
It is easier to try that than trying to trace the pipe.

Are there 2 pumps, one for front and one for rear? fronts working fine, doing a wash wipe on the rear produces no noise from the pump.

I can live without the washer BUT I really do need to replace that wiper blade as it now, whats left is making a horrible sound as it goes across the glass

I think the one pump does both front and rear. It'll have the 2 pipes coming off the bottom of the pump. It'll pump one way for front and pump the other way for the rear. Try swapping pipes around to see if the rear is getting water. If it is then it'll be the pump.

The rear jet is more prone to blocking up than the fronts - just as the rear screen gets covered more than the front when there's road-spray about.

Your problem, if the fronts are working normally, is not the pump, which serves both front and rear.
I'd clean out the rear jet as a first step. Easiest way to start with is to turn a needle while it's inserted in the hole. If you can get a friend to run the rear washer as you do it, that would help clear any blockage.

Thanks, did a check and the pump motor does work for both front and rear, just no water but also no sign of leakage from tailgate or anywhere else but ill re check that on a dry concrete surface to make sure.
Will try clearing jets with a needle in a minute and see what happens. At the end of the day id rather they work than not BUT considering the problems ive had to solve with my car, this one wont give me sleepless nights!

Hopefully this is just a blocked jet, otherwise you might be joining the "my carpet is wet and I don't know why" thread .

tried to clear the jets but black on black in bright sunshine!!! did my best but eventually I found one and stuck the needle in. tried again and I got a dribble over the rear window then it stopped. Parked on a concrete drive an di saw no evidence of water so I know its all ok but what the heck is stopping the water flow?? I will try again when daytime conditions permit and se where we go

Anyone else had his problem??

You in a hard water area?
If so it could be limestone inside the nozzle.
Used to get that on my Peugeot years ago. Have been using softened water since then, so don't know if it is a problem with Pandas.
Could also be caused by some of the unbranded screenwash additives. They seem to crystallise and block things up. Had to replace washer pump on a Focus coz it was solid!

Just had car in for MOT a 15 plate Panda 1.2, same issue as others front washers are fine. But when spraying to rear can hear motor but no water. Water is not over the inside of car or trickling outside either

Where does the water come out from, looks like a small dot in high level rear lights, but cannot see any small holes where water would come from.

Any advice for a complete numpty
