I've decided at last to replace the rear shocks on the 100HP and want to go down the STR.T route, BUT Koni don't list them any more, in fact they don't list any shocks for the 100HP. Their web site specifically excludes the 100HP. Is this due to the mounting bolt size?

Their part number for standard Panda is 8050-1106

When I spoke to the guy at Larkspeed he said that was the reason they don't list them for the 100hp anymore. I bought some 12mm to 10mm tube to fit the gap and job done. Can heartily recommend the STR.T 's, I wasn't really overly concerned with the bounciness, but they gave the ride much more of a composed and quality feel. If you decide to go for them I have some of the metal tube left you can have for postage.

I got the following message from Balance MS.

Just a note from Koni: "The application on this part number actually excludes the 1.4 100HP as the damper have a different size piston rod, I do know a lot of the guys on the Panda forum use them and have a spacer made up to get these to fit, so I am guessing your customer knows this, but it may be worth making sure."

They were delivered today. I do hope they mean the top mount!

I need to get hold of the spacers for the Konis, if you know where I can get hold of them please?

I fitted them today; and it's like having a different car. Much smoother and the bouncing has completely gone.

Over the last few weeks in addition to the STR.T shocks I've replaced the bump stops with Fiat Coupe parts and put on a set of 195/50 x 15 Bridgestone RE002 tyres. The effect of those changes is now I can near what people are saying at "70", and I don't get shaken like a pea in a pod and the car is much more stable. I never did like the Goodyear Eagle, far too noisy and lacked directional stability.

The only problem is the fuel consumption has reduced, but that is probably due to the fact that the car is much nicer to drive especially with the Green Stuff pads and new discs I can brake so late and exploit the grip of the new tyres.

The GTA is now getting less and less use; I really must dust it off!!

I've got some of the tube left that Scotty100hp sent me, if you're getting the shocks send me a PM with your address and you can have what's left for postage. Or I can cut a couple off if you're not able to cut them.

I believe the tube came off ebay originally, the size is 12mm outside diameter and a 1mm wall thickness (10mm inside diameter).

I have decided to go for fiat coupe bump stops but nobody has them in stock. So something that started fairly straightforward is a bit of a pain. I think my shock bush was damaged on one side was due to no bumpstop on that side.

I came across this as I'm looking into the Panda rear suspension issues.

For bump stops has anyone tried the Fiat 500 parts? The 500 beam is the same as the Panda except the hub mounts are deeper giving a wider wheel track. It also has an anti roll bar so runs softer springs than the Panda.
