I do like the Cross. Mind you only in colours from the warm end of the rainbow (yellow, orange or red). I honestly don't know what will replace Dez when the time finally comes. I like my Multijet but wouldn't be so keen on one with DPF. The 1.2 feels a bit sluggish in the new Panda so it would have to be a Twinair if I was to opt for new. The only yellow available is the Cross, otherwise it would have to be orange.

Mind you, my husband reckons that I should go electric, however Fiat don't do plug-in strangely enough.

I'd take one in any colour except the green and cream!

The only thing putting me off the Cross / 4x4 in reality is the running cost of a 4x4. And how even the likes of the shocks cost a margin more for those heavier models!

I'd avoid diesel for that too, and also because I probably don't 'need' one as such for the extra repair cost in the long run.

I hear a lot of bad things about the new 1.2, personally I don't care for speed, I find myself siding with the 1.2 over the TwinAirs based on what I've read. Of course, the only way to know is to live with one and by the time I do that it'll be too late! Lol

If Fiat remove the 1.2 - which maybe they will as the TwinAir gets more developed and cost is lower I've even had thoughts about Sanderos... They seem too good to be true.

That's my only real interest in future cars Pandas, 500s, and sometimes those dark Dacia thoughts lol

Maybe if my future job needs me to cross rivers I'll need a 4x4 or if I have a large family I'll need an MPV (although with the family one you and Dez have made a good case that families can get by even in a city car :D )

Like yourself, I'm still here and enjoying my Panda daily but I'll never know wen the time comes :-O

Oh, and apparently hybrid / electric cars to maintain into the age of our Pandas are extremely expensive. I think Renault and the likes make you hire a battery too? Unless I'm missing the point otherwise electric is an exciting thought

The Dacia range now is based on older Renaults, whatever that means to you. French engineering, performed in Romania. A recipe for success, or not perhaps. Quite possibly they'll do it better. As most Dacia customers seems to be of a certain type, the vehicles don't seem to be worked hard, but may suffer neglect, so time will tell if they make sense used or not. Buying a new one and looking after it properly would likely be a safe experience.

I always talk about Dacia but every time I get in my Panda I'm reminded that it's just the perfect car for me, and question why I'd ever replace it with a non-Fiat.. These cars really capture your heart! Lol

Spot on! They seem to build emotion into them, even if you get one that is just loads of trouble, you'll still fall in love with it, and miss it when its gone.

I have the AA Driving School car, a 3-week old Fiesta 1.0 100hp. Just does what it should, but no soul. For most journeys, even longer ones on the motorway, I prefer to use the 60hp Panda. A 'happy' car.

It's so true. People think I'm mad with the exception of FF folk!

My sister who owned it for two years told me 'the novelty of it would wear off' but 10 months later and I'm still as enthusiastic about it as I was in 2014 when I first was told I'd be getting it and last October when I did get it!

Despite the odd attraction to Dacia I still think Fiat and the Panda has me trapped in their spell!

It's all sorts of things.. The bright interior, toughness of the finishes, the gear stick and driving position.. Fiat just gets what I want! Hope they don't change their ways

Lol we're very understanding or else we're all as crazy as the next :ROFLMAO:

A few months ago I got into the final to win a new Dacia Sandero. I couldn't take it seriously. I sent my 6 year old to go and pick the box. The man standing beside me won. However the whole time I was standing there with my son, he stood saying how he hated the car and how he so much preferred my car. Tbh if I had have won, I'd have had to sell it to fund some Panda upgrades and renovations.

Was that with a UTV competiton by any chance?

My mistake, thought I'd heard the ads for it! It was on TV a LOT.. So that could have been you! Silver one wasnt it?

Maybe next time! Must enter more competitions myself!

Yes it would have been advertised on the tv as well as they're sister stations. I could be seen coming off the stage and high-fiving my son when we lost on their Facebook page.

I don't know what my son's reaction would have been if I had have won. He didn't like the car at all. Lol. He just wanted to get going to the zoo!

Come to think of it, I could just imagine what the winner's interview would have went like had we won the Sandero...

Radio presenter - So what do you think of mummy's new Dacia Sandero?
My son - I hate it! I prefer mummy's Panda cause it's yellow. I want to go to the zoo now.

I'm sure we would have been popular.

And again.. another awesome Panda spotted today at a LIDL in Coleraine, Northern Ireland!

Special edition Mamy! I've seen a purple, a silver and now an orange one. The Panda really is nice in Orange, wasn't faded at all!

Envied the more comfortable seats in it too.. but very nice :D

I'm looking for a used Panda. Today I saw a red Multijet Sporting. The red had faded to a muddy brown with looked even worse when doors opened. The hidden areas were not faded. To cap it off the white strips ha been peeled off leaving nice clean red lines surrounded by muddy brown.

Red seems to be worse than blue for fading in sunlight.

Irish reg. plates really are unbelievably crap aren't they? So many Euro countries have a simple, clear format so why try so hard to be different? They have white plates at the back too don't they? That would seem weird on a UK car, but not as weird as the dutchies yellow plates front and back..

OK, rant over..
Plates from Eire used to be pretty much the same as UK plates, in other words black plates with white or silver letters. When we went to reflective plates Ireland did as well but using a red rear plate instead of yellow. They also used letters Britain didn't such as I Q U & Z. More recently they've adopted the current style with the year followed by a locale followed by a number. So D would be Dublin and MH is Monaghan. Probably more logical than the British system but then they have far less vehicles us.

My MJ is in a light blue metallic and despite never having been polished and only washed around once every two months is actually looking pretty good. A quick visit to the local hand wash to have it looking nice and bright. On the other hand, I recently had the bottom of the tailgate repaired after rust set in & the N/S sill is starting to go as well and the wheels have lost their finish so they need doing next. But apart from the odd stone chip the Panda is in pretty good nick.
