Hello from South Africa. I got my 100HP for about 4 months and have started to misfire and the engine light comes up. Right as we all know this is the sensor in the exhaust that kick the light on and oh when it idle it just want to cut out. This problem arise about a mouth after I bought the 100HP. Took back to dealer and ran fine for a day and then same problem. On the open road it drives like a rocket there is no problem but when I slow down for a toll gate it idle like a car with a very hot cam. Took it a Fiat, took it to a Fiat specialist and they all want to change the coil packs and spark plugs and they all did. Panda was smooth for a day or 2 and then all went back as is was. I search the internet for some info regarding this problem and it all points to coil packs or spark plugs. By this time I refuse to think that this is the problem. Also saying must reset the ECU by disconnecting the battery for and hour or so. I did everything but could not get the Panda to behave normal. Right so at night in bed I think of the problem and how or what is the fault and last night I finally came to the conclusion of the panda problem. So why on the open road there is no misfire and running smooth and when stop at a toll gate, stop sign or robot it idle bad only on 3 cylinders or even 2. On continue drive like on open road there is enough spark to spark the fuel for smooth drive, but on idle the spark is gone and un-burnt fuel trigger the engine light. On my investigation and test I find the flowing stupid fault. Yes stupid fault. Cylinder 1 spark plug was so lose. I use a normal spark plug spanner and turned it lose with no force. Like turning it with your fingers. Took a torch and shine down in the spark plug hole and saw it was wet. Put a small piece of tissue down the tub to confirm my findings. Yes it smells like fuel. Check the rest of the spark plugs and they were all lose. Took them out and inspect and reinstall. Start up and it idle so smooth. Took it for a drive and what a pleasure to drive the Panda. So I got the old coil pack and install them back just to check if they are okay or busted and there is no problem with them.
So guy's and lady's before u change your coil pack just check if your spark plugs are fasten.
Sorry for the long story but it felt very long for me to find the problem to my problem. I hope this could help some one out and have the same problem I me.
Regards and out
