Tuning K&n question

I think cooper man changed the lot, but you have to get a downsize for the throttle body, as its smaller than the airbox outlet. I haven't forgotten my grill mod, my bumpers still in paint so I've not stripped mine down yet, apparently the grey is quite hard to get hold of...

Ok so mod not happened, can't get trims off old bumper so it's tomorrow, but here's the idea...

That area above the brown trim is where the air feed comes from, there's no direct feed...

You can see it's all blocked. I had planned to drill out 20 or so of the honeycomb holes, and remove a section of the bumper directly behind

I'm now thinking it may cause an issue driving in rain, and I don't want to move the opening more central as it'll affect the bonnet catch. Thoughts?

That would look stupid and suck in water, but mostly it would just look stupid.

Stupid or visionary...? But seriously, no chance.

Not driven enough yet to make a comparison, which means no noticeable difference. Will check the mpg's on the next tank and see what's what, if anything.

I doubt it'll make much difference to the mpg's, if anything they might be slightly worse as the engine flows a bit more air it will also have to add more fuel but its not a turbo so it'll be very small.

After a decent drive up hill, down dale and across the motorways to Huddersfield last night, the only real difference I've noticed is its slightly less breathless at the top of the gears. Not saying it's faster, or more powerful, it just revs a little freer high up.

OK so now the real question. Does it sound better? Lol.

Update, there is noise...

Since cleaning the grill up, I've noticed a slight high pitch shriek at 5,000rpm and above, any gear. Not obtrusive and not unpleasant. Sounds kinda cool.

Grill looks so much better like that. I don't understand why they didn't build it like that.
