Hoping someone can help share some links to alternatives to OEM parts.

Having just called a couple of Fiat dealers the prices for an OEM exhaust back box and a rear bump stop I was a little shocked to say the least at the prices listed £213 inc vat for a back box and £45 for a single bump stop. Even comparing these to the OEM prices for parts on my 1989 BMW E30 325ic they are ridiculous.

Having read lots of posts people have mentioned these for the bump stops, although not listed as for the Panda, will these be a direct fit? Unfortunately my post count is too low to include URL's :(

Shop4Parts part number: S4P8572

And a few people have posted that the UlterSport back boxes are good and don't really sound any different to the standard box. Is this the one to go for, again is it a direct replacement?

Ebay Item Number: 281916514130

Any where else I should be looking?

I'd be a bit wary of pattern back boxes.
I bought a cheap one from eurocarparts a few years ago and it wasn't passing the gasses out fast enough and bunged up the engine so it ran awful.

Genuine's aren't badly priced, they are double skinned and fairly well made, they'll last you twice as long as a pattern that'll be no doubt made of tinfoil.

These might be a bit cheaper for genuine.

Also, if you donate to this forum, it'll give you 10% off at shop4parts.

Thanks for sharing the link its a bit of a saving on the exhaust at least but not much by the time vat and carriage is added.

To be honest the OEM back box has lasted only 4 years and 30K miles as its already been replaced which I think is rather poor as well, in comparison the OEM back box on my BMW is the original from new and has lasted 27 years and 160K miles and its only very slightly more expensive to replace as the fiat one.

At £213 I'm sorely tempted to get a quiet stainless back box custom made by Elite in Ayr as they have quoted £240 for one, although I'd prefer to keep the car standard.

Have you asked your Fiat Dealers if there's a Magneti Marelli part available for these?

They're made by Fiat and a lower cost option that still comes with the same guarantees as Fiat's (that's if you want to get Fiat to fit then) but they're probably the second best option for quality. (This is what my Fiat dealer told me).

Also, I can second a recommendation for Shop4Parts; I've ordered Panda aftermarket suspension components and fitted then from there, and last night a timing belt kit and stuff from there - 10% off is very handy indeed!

I have managed to find another alternative:

EBERSPÄCHER is a good quality brand supplying OEM exhausts to most of the german car makers i.e. MB \ BMW. Might be worth a shot. If nothing else it gives me some options.

I used that site to buy a new Fuel Pump in December - can confirm they deliver on their prices and products. How long they take to deliver is another issue.. ;) But then it was near Christmas in my experience!

Did you check out Shop4Parts? They're good in terms of guaranteeing compatibility and only stocking quality parts too.

Unless I am doing something wrong they don't list any exhausts on their site at the moment for the 100HP.

Thanks, that's the same one I mentioned but couldn't link to in my original post. having read through the forum I saw a few members had mentioned they had this one fitted and seemed pleased with it.

Once I finally make my mind up I'll post back which one I went for.

I bought the Ulter Sport one last year for my 100HP ....I thought the back box was rusted to bits...turns out it was just the outer skin as many people have mentioned on here.
I've therefore yet to fit it but it seems very well made with a nice chrome tail pipe.

id recommend the ragazzon / ulter sports one, thats the one i will be replacing mine with shortly, i know a few people that have fitted the bosal one to theirs and they have been really pleased with that
