I have just fitted a Magneti Marelli straight through exhaust centre section with my standard back box and although I like it and its an improvement its still not quite the noise im after.
the note I have at the moment is quite deep and boomy and I was hoping for somthing a bit higher n raspy.
The clips I have seen on you tube with my current set up suggest that what I have should sound more like this. I think the problem may be that my back box although standard spec is not genuine Fiat but after market and and even with the standard centre section was always a bit deeper than original.
So the decision I have to make is whether or not to get the Magneti Marelli back box as well with the twin pipes. Watching videos on you tube with the centre pipe and back box suggest the sound created is exactly what I want (high n raspy) However it does sound VERY LOUD! What I need to know is has anyone any experience with this set up? and is it as loud as the vids suggest? I do not mind a loud exhaust but there is a limit.

<p>yep its for my 100hp, I actually really like the tinny sound,I think it suits the Panda more than a deep sound. Im just not sure if it would be annoying on longer journeys. Any feedback on how loud it is from within the cabin would be much appreciated.

Sorry, I have been trying to put an image up but don't seem to be able to. Its the one with the twin tail pipes next to each other.

Hi Jonah, did you manage to fit the Magneti Marrelli backbox yet?

Only asking as I had the Magneti Marrelli straight-through centre pipe fitted last weekend and I’m not happy with the sound I’ve got either. It sounds like it’s the same as yours, quite deep and breathy / huffy if you know what I mean.

What I’m after is zingy / raspy as I think that’s how a small sporty car should sound like.

Also, (bit cheeky) where did you get it from and how much

Let me know when you get a minute ~ cheers!

Hi, yep I've fitted the MM back box a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. It sounds more high pitched/raspy than before especially when cold. Mine seems to have got noisier and better as it has sooted up a bit with use but the noise in the cabin does not annoy me at all and sounds really good with the windows open.
I bought mine off eBay from a seller in Latvia called tshopabs for £130 including postage which I think is a bit of a bargain.

Bloody hell, mate ~ you’re a star!

That’s the one! I’ve trawled eBay, Amazon and the whole internet absolutely loads. I was looking at paying £160-170 + postage from some Italian website, which I didn’t fancy doing.

That exhaust will be ordered by the end of the day, no probs.

Cannot wait for the noise to begin :D

Thanks again J.
