Just paid £285 for 4 Goodyear Eagle F1's at National Tyres web price only no body else could get near that price.

Gav, do you have a suggestion or just to tell someone they made a bad decision?

I am looking for a set of tyres too... like we all seem to be, debating on Uniroyals as a few people have said good things. I currently have Bridgestones on and found them lacking in the wet, having said that it has been more monsoon and mud here so might just be the road. Also as I intend to go up some hills with it I have to be aware of the MSA lists..

The Uniroyals are awesome in terms of grip - some say too much. My only gripe is mine haven't lasted very long but that could be a result of the tracking being out for half a year.

1. Uniroyal Rainsport. Very grippy.

2. 195/50-15 - a bit better comfort on the potholes over the 45 profile and s smaller chance of bucked alloys.

F1's were not bad tyres but they are pretty old now and they were a summer tyre anyway, given the conditions in this country there are better more modern tyres available for the money... a lot of people say rainsport's are THE tyre to have but I myself keep coming back to Khumo on my 100hp, i'm currently running HS51's and they very very good....... in my opinion:)

If you don't get on with the F1s, I'd be tempted by the Efficient Grip (Performance version) or the Conti Premium Contact 5 gets a very good review.

Uniroyals may have too soft sidewalls for motorsport work in the dry, but I don't have recent experience. My road tyre of choice was the Vred Sportrac 3, but I don't believe that it's made anymore and the 5 isn't on the MSA list for 2016.

Very tempted to try the Uniroyals, as I have a spare set of wheels, and I have the Bridgestones on the current wheels.....

Also being only a short hill they hopefully won't over heat.. but at some point aim to swap the wheels over during a meeting to feel the difference back to back!

Looking at the HSA, being based in East Anglia the rounds out here (flat) and probably Prescott, Shelsey but not certain yet!

HSA visits some excellent venues.. but I'd also consider this:

http://aemc.org.uk/Sprint

Focused on the east, and runs a standard class. Even though it allows up to 1.6l, it would still be much slower than tuned 1.4l cars and would suit the Panda.

Enjoyed in competing in the Panda for a few years, I'd definitely recommend it.

Dan,

That is the other one I was/am considering.. Probably a safer bet for the first year as the run offs should be bigger than the hills (sadly they appeal more though)
