I want to upgrade my car's master cylinder (57 reg) with the one found in post MY08 cars.

Giving my registration and a 09 car's registration to Fiat resulted in the same part number (which they don't give away), I suspect the older part has now been superceded with the newer one regardless of MY.

Fiat wants £204 for it which is a lot of money considering there is nothing wrong with mine and I just want a better (see more linear) pedal feel, are there any other places you recomment I could check?

Eurocarpars can't source it without a part number which I don't have.

Can a 2009 MY car owner check their MC and let me know the part number please?

Thanks.

There does appear to be a change of part number around 2009, but the pics of the reservoir also appear to be different. (Another £80 if you needed one to fit the later master cylinder) Trying to look at all the related components to understand the differences would take a lot of time.
Just guessing with brakes is a bad idea, so I'm not willing to quote any part numbers as there are a lot of options.

If you have an issue, it would be better to describe that and let others help with a fix, rather than assume one bit will fix it. I have an 06 1.2 and the brakes are fine, so should be no need to 'upgrade', just make them work as they should.

There is nothing wrong with it, the car stops as it should but as Portland Bill said, I have read here that Fiat changed the MC in models after 2008/09 and having driven a MY11 500 I realised the latter has more linear pedal feel.
