I had to pip my horn earlier for the first time since buying the panda. I was embarrassed. It's such a squeaky little thing. Is it possible to change?

Of course it can, but it is not as simple as you'd hope.
Any noisier horn will be bigger, and won't fit in the same place. I have fitted a pair of Ring horns to mine, each mounted below a headlamp, but it needs the bumper off to do this properly.
Then there is the wiring. I have bought a connector (Ebay) that fits to the loom, so plugs into the loom connector that would normally plug into the original horn. That takes two wires to a relay to activate it when the horn is pressed. Then the relay is fed direct from the battery, through a fuse and the output is split to the two horns.
This took half a day, and the result is not as good as hoped. Previous twin horns have been louder, but finding Fiamms is more difficult.

They're the ones. Used to be very good. Couldn't find any when I got my Ring ones, might order some of these and fit them.

Mine are hanging off the lower headlamp mounting bolts, one each side. A good space under there, but difficult to get to.

To take the signal, I got one of these: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tyco-AMP-...r-Boat-/221861454716?var=&hash=item33a7f9237c (Other sources are available)
Just used the female part to plug into the loom, so no splicing or wire damage. In the even of failure i can reconnect the original horn and carry on.

On sale here if you are not an E Bay fan.

Do you guys have any more info about the relay setup you've used? I've got a pair of louder horns I've been wanting to fit

Wrightyy

Standard relay has four terminals, labelled 85, 86, 30 & 87.

85 & 86 are the wiring across the solenoid that switches the relay.
Take the two wires from the original horn and connect the purple (I think) to 85 and the black to 86. Then when you push the horn, the relay will click.

30 is a live feed from the battery, via a 10A fuse.

87 feeds the new horn(s)

Oh how glad I am that I found this thread. This has been bugging me for quite some time! Every once in a while I need to remind other drivers that the same rules apply no matter the size of car. It's not priciest first nor biggest first.:)

I just have one obvious question that I haven't seen the answer to here: Where is the original horn located?

Maybe I am asking too much here but is there a replacement horn which....

1, Is a lot louder
2, Fits in same space
3, is a direct fit - ie no rewiring and no relays etc

Ideally I would like to just whip off the stock one, and plug the two wires into a new one.

Relays are simple and cheap. Standard wiring is designed for the standard draw. You should use a relay when upgrading. Even if it does work and requires more draw best case it's going to be no louder, maybe a different sound and a waste of time.
