Hi ,I recently did an oil change on my multijet panda and saw there was a damp patch with a couple of drips of clear fluid around the back and bottom of the gearbox. My guess is it is a leaking slave cylinder but so far it is driving as well as ever and I have not noticed the levels dropping .Can anyone think of something else it could be? or is it possible it can have a small leak that isn't effecting the level in reservoir as yet? If it is the slave cylinder how hard a job is it to do? and what sort of cost would I be looking at?? It looks rather awkward to get at!

Thanks for your help.

Quite likely to be the slave cyl.
A bit fiddly to get to it, have to remove the battery, then the battery tray, with a few cables attached, so a bit of work. Once accessible, not too difficult to replace.
Get this one. http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l...89892ed45a05be2d9b169672761aeae88d75d0&000072

Same thing from Euro is £19.80.

If it needs a master cylinder, use this one:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-F...rmvSB=true&clk_rvr_id=894816696395&rmvSB=true
It is listed for the later models, but only difference appears to be it is without the pipework. Mine's been on some time now, working fine.

Thanks for that, is it the same slave cylinder for the 1.2 and the diesel?

Sorry, not been near the computer for a few days.

Wasn't paying enough attention to your original post. No diesel is a different cylinder.
You will need to physically look at it to ensure it is what you need, and to see what it looks like.
A lot of cars now have the slave cylinder inside the bell housing, called a concentric slave cylinder. Replacement means gearbox out and they are expensive.
More diagnosis before leaping.

Im about to replace my Multijet clutch slave cylinder (At last)

I've been after one for far too long but didn't want to ask a fiat dealer.

A local motor factors told me many times there is not one on there system for my car.

My mate cross referenced the part number listed for my sporting on the Eper as being the same for the 500 MJ and has come up with an LUK part 512004510

Not sure how it's going to split as the connection has barbs in (1 is missing so a potential gap?

LuK 512004510 is cross referred to FIAT 55183387 here

Just spotted in the eper that 55183387 is greyed out for my vin, it has M1 and M5 compatibility and if you hover over it it says 1.18V and 1.2

Mine is 55198115 (eper compatibility M10 - 1250 MJT) so I'm not going to fit this part.

Well I have done 2000 miles since finding the damp patch and the clutch fluid level hasn't dropped at all. Has anyone else got any other ideas on what it could be?
