Sorry...er....just...my kind of made up slang for....y'know.....proper sporty chunky things.

Nankang NS2R.

Yes, i was a bit 'hmm' about the Nankang brand when I got the car (they were already on, I didn't choose them myself) but I suspected Dan knew what he was doing and sure enough, these particular tyres do get a good write up. :)

This worried me, in the time I've had the car, I've used about two litres of oil. Is this within standard tolerance? It is taken over 4000rpm a fair bit I have to admit!

Depends what mileage you've done. I averaged about 1L every 3k miles.

Up to 1L every 1000-1500 miles is deemed acceptable.

I suspect he fitted them for hillclimbing, like I said they do get a good write up but they are the same price as some of the better branded tyres.

The 100HP manual states that it can use 400 grams every 1000km.

So this seems quite normal. I also top up every few weeks.

ENGINE OIL CONSUMPTION
Max engine oil consumption is usually 400
grams every 1000 km.
When the car is new, the engine needs
to run in, therefore the engine oil consumption
can only be considered stabilised
after the first 5.000 ÷ 6.000 km.

Brilliant guys, thanks so much. I've done a fair bit of mileage over the time I've owned it so it feels like I've been topping it up a lot.

I've looked around FF and the interwebs for modifications and have many many inspirations. Just have to wait for bits and bobs to arrive now!

What tyres!? I'm sure they're doing the 100HP's lovely handling the world of good ;).

Yeah, differences are:

(only have the Vredestein Quadtracs all weather tyres to compare to)

negative first:

More road noise/drone both at slow and high speeds (but OK between 45-60)

Slightly harder ride, less forgiving (forgiving??? LOL!)

Would appear to be averaging approx 2mpg less than previously. (on computer)

Positive:

Less lean

Sharper turn in

More feel /weight through steering

Obviously more grip (although I only 'go' for it on warm, dry days as appreciate these may be poor in the wet/cold, I wont risk it)

Also, I apologise if I've hijacked this thread!
