Well, I took my car out today to go and collect my pads and went around the corner, to my surprise the car pitched and rolled over like nothing I've experienced before.

The steering has become really light and the rear end is roley poleying all over the shop. What's happening?!

I don't drive it like a hooligan at all, if it's a fun country road I will press on a tad but not enough to have killed my suspension. The front still bites relatively decently into corners but the rear wheels almost feel like they're going to come off or the car is going to tip over.

Had a look underneath, no signs of cracked springs, nor is there any leakage around the dampers. The torsion beam seams to have a mild arch in the middle, however it looks too neat to have been an accident.

Anyone got any ideas? Could it be horrible allignment causing the problem?

Anti roll bar? Drop link?
The rear dont do much just keep it from scrapping the ground.
It the rear slides then fair enough look there.
Pitching in my view look at the front.

I wouldn't say it slides per se, but there is a tonne of body roll and steering effort is considerably less even in sport mode. I thought it could be down to misallignment as I have managed to hit a few bumpy tracks recently.

Start with tracking and check the front struts/springs/links whilst at the garage.

the rubbers on the front wishbones, certainly have that effect, ( I put a wheel brace on front wheel nut= "tightening", the torque moved wheel assembly back + forth in arch - (n)due to collapsed rear mount rubber :()

worth double checking obvious - like tyre pressures too..!!, ;)

Charlie, when you say the rubbers on the front wishbones is this something I'd be able to spot. Would there be obvious deterioration?

The steering is definitely way lighter than normal, sport mode feels like normal mode used to and though turn in is fine at the front, the rear just really pitches and rolls.

Wahey! Braking problems are all fixed, fitted new pads and blimey what a bloody difference, they're not even bedded in yet but they stop on a tuppence.

Lifted the car and had a look at the suspension, springs are fine and dampers don't seem shot. However, as a precautionary measure KYB shocks have been ordered and will be fitted soon.

Car is running sweet now and I'm happy again :)

Except....

I hit a pheasant earlier and there's a crack in my front bumper and some of the side trim has taken leave. Not looking forward to the cost of a new bumper at all :(

Does that mean you have Sunday's roast sorted? :D

I was considering it but I'm not sure how popular a pheasant flattened into the pattern of an eagle f1 is going to be.

Has anyone got any idea where to buy a front bumper. Why are they so hard to find?!
