General Panda windscreen

General Panda windscreen

I'll be interested too. My windscreen is cracked at the bottom corner at the seal. It'll be an MoT failure if noticed as it touches two edges of the window.

check your insurance policy.., ;)
TBH - a CHEAP screen job can be a nightmare ( with water leaks over time)

known several go REALLY wrong, :(

so an £80 excess could be a good investment,:)

It will be through the insurance. I'll be leaving it till around May though.

Hi ya.

Please could anyone recomend a good firm for a replacement windscreen?

Or who to avoid .

Thanks,
Louie.
I had the front screen of my Panda Cross replaced last week. There was a very, very small chip on the screen, directly in my line of vision. I tried to come to terms with it but just too irritating; new screen required. Insurance excess would have been £75 and you do have to declare a claim on subsequent renewals (which I'm sure indirectly puts the quote up). I live within reach of Kendal and can highly recommend Lakeland Windscreens-

£190, inclusive of vat, at their workshop in Kendal. Pilkington glass (exactly the same glass as Fiat use but without Fiat 'badging').
Excellent job; really nice people; very obliging.

thanks for the heads up!!

yer I was trying to decide if it's worth claiming.

Came back to my sporting after work - a 12" crack from just off the top corner.

Cant see it if I put the visor down

Gonna see what work say... grass cutters were about on our carpark yesterday  can guess what's happened here :cry::cry:

No harm in saying in your case...

I saw the stone coming in my case. It hit the screen in the bottom driver side corner in the sealing section so it's virtually unnoticeable from inside the car. It wasn't one that would have been repairable so I have left it. I had another stone kicked up by a lorry a few weeks ago and that spread the original spider's web so it now touches the two edges (so fail if noticed). It still doesn't come up above the black seal at the bottom of the screen though and is barely visible from inside the car.

Had mine done recently reluctantly but the screen was irreparable. The chip was the size of a 50p. It was right in the line of sight.

Only had it done due to the car requiring MOT otherwise i would have preferred waiting till the summer months.

Anyways the screen replacement went smoothly. They used all of the old trim and luckily no damage to any of the paint.

After waiting a good 3 days for the screen to set properly i jet washed the car and there was no leaks so happy days. I took the car to the workshop and kept my eye on the weather to make sure it wouldn't be raining the days after the change.

£60 excess. insured through RAC

Mines gone too ..woke up noticed a tiny line on window driving along and crack went the whole way across

Hi all 3 of my windscreen claims through my insurance didn't affect my premium, hopefully won't affect yours either
