Ive just changed back onto the original wheels which are shod in Nankang NS2R summer tyres...

The difference in the drive is quite noticeable.

(Driving at maybe...7/10ths at the moment)

Pretty much gone is the slightly numb/squidgy feel through the chassis on harder cornering.
The steering seems to feel better, more direct, somehow quicker (illusion?)

The ride is marginally worse..but not much worse...which is good.

Tyre noise is increased though, as I expected.

However..I've now got more communication through the wheel and chassis...so I can push a bit harder and feel the body leaning onto the wheels more...telling me what's going on. I feel this car has a lot more to give...and that I'm just on the tip of the iceberg....

I even felt the damping in action yesterday...I love damping when it works...

Bring on the warmer, drier days so I don't end up in a hedge! :s

(car looks better too, on the original wheels!)

EDIT: Tramlining is much more noticeable though...can't all be good news.....)

Yep - great grip though the winter tyres provide, damn they're awful.

Summer tyres are a different world.

Understandable, the weather is still pretty poor.

I was gonna change mine at the start of the month but didn't.

The nangkangs are pretty decent. Especially for the price. Just watch out in the wet - especially if you have just come off winters - serious under steer in the wet and wheel spin on energetic starts (although I have nangkangs only on the front)

Cheers Nobbles.

I'm not a fast driver by default, I just like my fun drives now and again.

It could well be in the side wall construction and stiffness.
With them being a winter tyre the compound should be softer and so works at the lower temps.
Are you on the same profile?
With the 100 they don't make winters in that size and you have to go smaller wheels and bigger profile, hence it feels different.
Tyres have a big impact.
The panda isn't too fussy, my TF wow that didn't like some tyres but loved goodyears and Bridgestones along with Proxes....
