I have a Panda 1.2 Dynamic. Up until last week I was under the impression that it had no trip computer and just had a fixed odometer. Now however, instead of the odometer there is a meter saying how many miles of driving I have left until the tank is empty (which can vary between 400 and 200 miles on a full tank seemingly randomly).

I used to have a Panda 100hp and to scroll through the trip computer/mpg/odometer etc there was a button on the end of one of the stalks yet the 1.2 doesn't have this and I can't see any other buttons that can change it. From what I've read on this forum the only way to scroll through is via the button on the end of the stalk.

Does anyone know how I can scroll through them?

It isn't there :)

Any ideas?

Weird - but it's defo a Dynamic with the rev counter.

Maybe someone replaced the wiper control arms for anm old Active one.

What happens when you press the 'clock/menu' buttons?

The middle clock button doesn't seem to do anything and feels like it might be jammed as it doesn't feel as nice to press as the up and down arrows. Is that supposed to alternate between the hour and the minute to allow you to adjust?

Hi!

From your first picture, with the 3 buttons in the background, they look like they are almost flush with the plastic.

Mine (2007 100HP) each stick out about 6-7mm. Is it possible that the cowl is not fitted properly and/or that the buttons are actually already 'pressed in' kind of thing?

Just having guesses really...but unless it's the angle of the pic...I'm sure those buttons should be protruding more!?

EDIT - I've just pressed my buttons (oo-er!) and each feels exactly the same with a defined 'click' So...I wonder if one or more of your buttons are stuck 'on' which might have something to do with the display changing (maybe...jolted? or something)

EDIT 2 - Also, I see that your stalk is set to 'wiper on'...does this have any affect on the display? The reason I ask is...(randomly) I had a Citroen Picasso which, when you turned the end to activate the wiper, it would scroll through the trip computer function (I imagined it as a crossing of wires etc, inside the stalk) So maybe...your vehicle is supposed to...or used to have a trip computer on the end...this was replaced..but the gubbins inside still think it's got a trip computer, and the movement of the stalk has 'tripped' it?

Again...just thinking out loud really.

All good ideas, thank you.

Another funny electrical fault I've seen Xsara Picassos have is the brake lights stay on for a short while even when the car isn't braking.

I'm going to take the cowling off and see if I can release the middle button some how.

I'll let you know how I get on.

Be careful, the middle button on my MyLife Dynamic is also solid, ie, no movement. I don't they`re meant to move!

My trip also is operated by a small button on the end of the wiper stalk. Maybe your stalk was changed at some point, for one without the button?

Thanks everyone. I'm going to keep an eye out for a used stalk. I'm not paying £40 for a full wheel unit with both stalks (unless a complete indicator/wiper unit is the only way forward?)

Aye, the middle of the three buttons does nothing. Presumably it does on one of the spec levels though.

The miles remaining feature of the Panda is both extremely accurate and terrible at the same time. I always got 250-260 miles from full to the light just coming on, and if I drove at a steady speed for a while it would show a number that would take it to 260 ish when combined with the trip reading + 30 miles ish for the reserve tank. Accelerate or change speed though and it would say any old rubbish. It used to say 460 miles remaining after filling up which was totally unachievable.
