I upgraded the bulbs on the panda osram night brakers and there still really bad bordering on dangerous. I had the same bulbs in the micra and they were great. I do a lot of driving on single track roads surrounded by forests so good lights are very important has anyone got any suggestions? I'm not wanting hid don't want the hassle of fitting self leveling and washer jets

I've recently fitted some Osram Nightbreaker Unlimited bulbs to my Panda and they've made a huge difference. Are your headlights reasonably clear as they can begin to go cloudy over time?

The lights are clean but seem to mist up during the day. I'm wondering if the caps infront if the bulbs cut the light down a bit I dint have them on any of the other cars
Even starting to think about putting driving lamps on the front after a few close calls with deer

hi I've had Halfords super bright or ultra bright in mine for a couple of years (they've got a thin blue line around the bulb) and they are certainly a big improvement over the standard ones , better even then the headlights in my passat. And great on full beam. So think it must be something to do with your lenses.

think ill give the lights a machine polish and split the lenses and polish the insides up see if that makes a difference.
ive got the Halfords something brilliance on my Vectra cant remember what ones but they were £19 bogof and there good

I just fitted Phillips Xtreme bulbs last night and I could actually see the road! They seem to get good reviews.

See the thread above. Philips 12342XV+S2 Philips X-tremeVision halogen headlamp H4 really are good.

I have no issues with the lights on standard h4 bulbs. I actually think they are pretty good (once I had adjusted the beam pattern correctly). They will never match our landy with light force spots on etc but perform well enough - also mostly single track muddy roads.
Have you though about fitting some deer scaring units/sirens to the front? Highlands fire brigade fitted them to all the fire crew cars and saw a 70% reduction in deer collisions.
They're only activated by wind and we can't hear them but it alerts the deer so they don't run from the shadows and into your path. Oh, and they only cost about £6 or £7.

The headlamps on my Panda could be described as good, but never excellent. Perfectly adequate for normal driving, but always leaving you wanting just a little more.

I fitted some Osram silverlights and was very disappointed. Careful inspection showed the bulb holder to be poorly aligned, so the filament was not in the right position for the reflector. Osram exchanged these, but the replacements were better, but still not absolutely correct. I suspect they are losing a lot of light due to poor quality manufacture. Check the mounting flange is square to the bulb.

I'll have a proper look at the bulbs tomorrow if it's dry.
I'm with you on them never matching a landy our 90 nearly burns holes in trees when you have all the lights on 2 headlights 4 driving lamps on the bar and 4 on the roof bar and the spotter light

I recently had driving lights on my Panda, combined with Halford's brightest bulbs, and I was very impressed with the light, they are the brightest of any car I know, excluding HID's obviously.

Had to take my driving lights off, but the bulbs are still completely sufficient for darkened roads, especially on main beam.

The 54 plate Punto in our family has H1/H7 bulbs and they are like candles.
I'm pretty sure my dipped beam is brighter than the Punto's main beam.

So yeah.

Ive just fitted osram nighbreaker unlimited to mine. Made a massive difference to mine. I was going to go HID but its a pain because of the legalities

Mine are clear too. My bulbs were almost 10 and yellow too until I decided to upgrade last week. New bulbs make such a difference.

I fitted a pair of Osram nightbreaker unlimited in September/October and while I didn't find the standard ones bad, these are much better, though I find myself having to dip the lights from main beam to avoid bright reflections from road signs :( Noticed at Christmas that my dads Fiesta was fine on main beam and did get me thinking it might be worth switching back, but haven't done anything about it yet.

I've got a 100HP with Nightbreakers fitted by the previous owner.

I find them 'normal' (no better than other cars I've had with 'ordinary' bulbs) when on headlight, but when on hi-beam, they're really good, very bright and far reaching.

Looking at the car with them on, they do have a different colour, slightly blueish/whiteish tinge to them?

Definitely something different about them to normal bulbs (I'm sorry, I'm not 'up' on my bulbs at all!)

To be honest, I find even at the highest angle setting '0', the headlight beam is a teeny bit too low/close for my liking...just a preference, but it's fine.

I don't think there's anything wrong per se with the Panda's headlights, but there's so much light pollution from everything else and other cars that they get drowned out. I think mine are pretty good when on dipped beam and it's pitch black, unlit road with no one else around. Once you get people with HIDs coming the other way, cars with one bulb out and main beam on to compensate, badly adjusted lights pointing to the moon, inappropriate fog light use, cars parked on your side of the road with dipped beam on, streetlights and mk3 Renault Clios (why are the headlights on those so retina burning?) combined with a bit of a dirty screen or scratches, visibility suffers. In that situation I can see the Panda's lights on the kerb and street lights but other than that I can't see they make much difference from side lights.

my better half drove my panda last night with the osram unlimiteds fitted, i didnt tell her they were fitted but she said to me what have i done because the headlights are much better.

Ive now had to order some for her KA. Grrrrr
