I got 34.9 litres in this evening .Was SURE I was going to run out before service station .In Panda when needle is at bottom you'd best be near a station and on flat roads . I ran out once , came to a halt on slight incline after some steep hills .Tank is meant to be 35 litres .(I suppose fuel filter has a mile or two mores worth of diesel.)
Fuel level settled in view for a while this evening when 'full' but I guess with further 'settling' you'd get more in .

I don't know.
I keep it low on purpose to get a lighter car :p

The lowest I've let my 100HP get to is to be able to fit in 31.24.

Run mine down past empty a few times, most I've ever gotten in 99,000 miles of running it empty was 33.22 litres of diesel
Reckon you're only be beaten by someone who runs out

I'm 3K miles behind you and the most I've ever put in was slightly lower too at 33.18 litres of diesel.

We currently have a 2005 4x4 and the most I ever put in was 29.87 litres and its only a 30 litre tank!!
The needle seemed to be past the bottom of the gauge and had driven nearly 20 miles with trip computer showing 0 on the range!
Wont be doing that again tho!

I've had about 35 litres in my 4x4 and I've had 42 in my 500. I rather suspect the vagueness of the analogue gauge in the Panda means that you might never get to empty before you wimp out whereas the 500 has a gauge which makes running it down to empty a lot easier.

that's the problem with an analogue gauge, with the 500 I can easily run it down to within a litre of empty :)

T'aint the readout that counts, whether analogue or digital. It's the accuracy of the gauge.
Guess digital means you don't chicken out so early.
I travelled to Avignon on the overnighter, with car on the bogeys behind the train. A friend did the same with his car. Before we left the UK he told me he was going to run his tank low, because French diesel was cheaper, and thought me stupid for filling up before we left. We arrived in the dark early morning when all good Frenchmen were sleeping, and he couldn't find a filling station.
A week later, he pulled the same trick while crossing Sicily, and ran out within sight of the ferry to Tunis!
I'm just a wimp, so I keep the tank topped, not bottomed out.

I like to go as far as possible without needing to refuel. The problem with gauges is parallax error as well. The 500 is digital so as long as you're on level ground you get an accurate reading :)

I've noticed the fuel pump on getting noisier when approaching empty so I'm a wimp when it comes to the Panda and fill up as soon as the light goes on.

Panda 100HP supposed to have the same tank but always takes 40 litres. I think I once got 42.3 in. It must have been nearly dry!!! I have noticed in the handbook it warns against filling to the brim and says it might damage the injection system. Has the 1ooHP got an extra thick filler neck or something?

Checking Fuelly I once managed to get 36.87 litres in on a nearly empty tank.

I think that will be hard to beat .its a 35 litre tank but I'm sure the pipe work means more than that can be squeezed in .I wonder though how prevalent stations giving out 'short measures' is? I've often thought of using a measured container to compare but never got round to it .

EDIT It's worth reiterating that when needle hits the bottom of the Empty 'band' you REALLY need to refuel fast .I have ran out and could have been badly stuck but for fact I was right beside a generous 'trucking' company who got me going again with some of their diesel .( Johnson Logistics , Rathcoole )

Last month, I thought I was going to run out and got 38.7 litres in. Today after several days of warning light but short runs, I got exactly 40 litres in my multijet, I must stop sailing so close to the wind.

Or, as an earlier poster said, the pump is inaccurate?

I'd say if you're supposedly fitting that much in, I'd be looking for another petrol station which measures out correctly. It sounds like you're paying for a litre and getting around 850 ml of fuel in return.
