My 100hp has developed an odd sort of scraping noise when turning left or right, it seems to be coming from the nearside but I've had a good look at the suspension/driveshaft/hub etc and I can't see anything amiss..
The wheel bearing seems pretty quiet when you spin the wheel and there is no clicking to suggest a worn cv joint, it has had new track rod ends and drop links recently and had new brake discs and pads in the summer.
It seems to drive and handle normally with no vibration etc on the motorway... any pointers would be helpful before I start replacing things.

I would guess that's a cv on its way out ..... had exactly that noise before with early stage joint failure.

I'd take off a clip from the cv joint boots and squirt a ton of grease in then put a new clip on (or tie wrap) take it for a drive and see it that helps the problem, it certainly won't do any harm.

Might not be the cv joint is worn but might be getting dry with age and heat

I'll try that first as it seems that an outer cv joint is the best part of £70 so i'd like to be sure before I replace it.
