You should try swapping the one on an X type.
They've shoehoned a V6 in the wrong way, it's motor is tranverse, so one sensor is up again the rad at the front, the other against the bulkhead at the rear.

Like I said before, they can be a real pain to get out and a decent tool is usually needed.

Does someone have the part numbers of the pre- and post-cat sensors? Would like to order them, as my engine light also came on and apparently I need to replace both. Here in RSA they are ridiculously expensive. Would like to import myself...

there good for 200,000 miles. Second hand should be fine


same for most of the fiat range. Take the old ones to a breakers. Compare to punto or 500 fairly confident there all the same

It would be highly unusual for both sensors to fail simultaneously.
Post the fault codes that were read from the ecu after the engine light came on.
The codes are a start to finding the fault/faults.
How many miles had car driven?

If its both heater circuit that don't work its more likely a supply problem.

Thanks for the feedback. It has 169 000 km on the clock. I am trying to get the data from the mechanic, but without success yet. It was still running 100%, but the fuel consumption dropped. As soon as I have the error codes I will send it on.
