Suggestion: Before you shell out heavily for this tiny valve, try unplugging, cleaning the electrical connectors with spray and reseating. Also check that the fuel filler cap seals correctly.
Might just save a few bob.

The price of these things is almost beyond belief.

They don't often fail, but the replacement cost is enough to mean I'm always very careful not to overfuel the car when filling up.

Never try to dribble more fuel into the tank after the pump clicks off - damaging this valve is one potential consequence of brimming the car. There's a clear warning against doing so in the handbook.

I just had that off to check the o rings!. It is definitely sealing, I tried to blow through it, but is it opening?, that is the question.
What a price!.
So it's possible the problem is sludge, caused by the valve malfunctioning.
When you are idleing, the car runs fine, it's like all of a sudden something opens up, then the revs rise and the EML goes on. Switch off, restart and whatever it is thats opening up seals, then opens again. If the petrol cap was leaking that might cause it. more investigation.
Alan.

Sounds to me like the valve isn't opening correctly, allowing a partial vacuum to form in the fuel tank, preventing fuel from being delivered at a sufficient rate. The issue will be more pronounced if the fuel tank is nearly full.

Can you test it by temporarily disconnecting the connection to the fuel tank (or even by running with the filler cap replaced with a rag - just don't go round any corners at speed!)

The valve could be leaking, so not sealing when it should. The mention above of one being fine was not the OP, so this can easily distract.
On that note, it may seal if you blow through it, but may leak if the engine sucks. Sucking to test may result in a nasty taste, so take care there.
I'm guessing that the computer senses changes to airflow into the engine when the valve operates, and is not happy with the results at this time. If the valve leaks, will the engine not know, until it operates the valve and sees no change. It looks like a two wire connector, so no open/shut sensor.
Or, if the valve does not open, the computer will not sense a change there either.
It only operates the valve when the engine is warm, and running steadily, so catching it is difficult.
Does MES give a test operation?

Read the codes

its a big jump to even suspect the purge solenoid

You can plug the pipe as a temporary test

This is a thread revival of a very old thread from 2014 connected to a new (7/2/21)thread and is therefore confusing.

Hi. I have the same problem with my 2014 1.2 panda. Just wondering if you managed to find the fault? We are going round in circles.

what code

rise in revs could be lots of things, Throttle position sensor for example

wrong section for 2014 by the way. Some faults will be model specific
