Hey guys, just wondering if the rim of the "space saver" tyre I have in my boot is the same as the other 4 road wheels.

I wanted to get a full-size spare to stick in the boot, as I hate space savers, and was looking at single steel wheels, but I wondered if the space saver has the same rim size and just a different tyre fitted.

Sorry if it's actually a stupid question, I've been at the Budweiser.

Thanks.

PS. Should mention I'm on 155/85/R13 (T)'s

It's slightly narrower than the 4 normal wheels on the car.

Is the spare wheel well deep enough for a full size wheel/tyre?
I'm not a fan of spacesavers either... :)

In terms of diameter it should be fine. However, a 165 tyre is 3cm thicker than a 135 tyre (and a 195 tyre 6cm deeper) and hence will stick up in the boot floor space.

Some people pad out the surrounding to keep the boot floor level, albeit shallower.

Definitely would fit, I've already tried it.
But thanks bill, £30 isn't bad for a brand new steelie.

Thanks for that.
I have a wheel on order.
Probably fit an all season Vredestein. Anyone need/want a spacesaver and tyre? Haven't checked condition yet - there wasn't one when I checked the car over prior to purchase, just asked the dealer to ensure one was supplied. (Thinking, I'd better check it will fit the Panda! )

The studs were mashed on one of my wheels so a garage got them out and put the spare wheel on to replace the wheel which was damaged during removal. I questioned it but they said it was the same size, it has a normal 155/85/R13 tyre on now. The damaged normal wheel fit back in the well along with a normal tyre (really must get that replaced or just bin it!)

It may be that what was my spare wheel had been replaced with a normal one at some point though!
