There seems to be no new information on the panda SUV that was due to be released middle of this year, even the dealers don't seem to know when it's due. Does anyone know

I was led to believe that both models were due to be released and this one as the SUV simmilar to the 4x4 and sisley simmilar but different, If it's not going to be released my dreams have been shattered :( I'm sure I saw a spec sheet for this one that stated the ground clearance was a little higher ground clearance etc and was to be released as well as the 4x4

I had heard/ read somewhere that it was going to be released in December with the 1.3 multijet engine. It was being developed in partnership with Suzuki. The slightly higher ground clearence comes from the 15" wheels.
And yes. These are pictures of the Simba which they plan to release as the Panda SUV.

So everybodies stories seem to tally up, but where is it? I also read that fiat plan to use the 4X4 technology in other models as an option.

I am looking to replace our second car next year. A F**d Ka, and am so happy with our Panda 4X4 I might just buy another. Now if the SUV was released...

I think this was thre article that fueled my wait....

It does make it sound like both would go into production.

And this.....

Alan, that's my website, www.forzafiat.com. I stopped maintaining it and pulled the main page when I took over our club website, www.niimc.com.

I'm flattered that you pulled that page out of nowhere. It's sad to see it with pop-up ads all over it though. :( Maybe I'll bring it back...

There was a later article about the 4X4 and Simba which I got from a source in Italy that basically said the Simba wasn't going into production and the 4X4 was a toned down version.

That's a different car, it will based on a Suzuki platform.

I beg Fiat not to bring out that thing. Is it only lower-standard marques that bring out these? I guess Honda make one but the others aren't of the standard of Fiats, I don't think.

Well it's your fault I've got this yearning for the SUV then :D Loved it when I first laid eyes on it and that was the first pic I ever saw of it (thinking about it the pic still has your website details on it when I copied it  ), I was pondering on getting one maybe a year old or so to beat some depreciation but it's taking that long I may get a new one if it ever comes out that is, as new cars now are becomming more and more affordable especially now fiat offer 3yrs 0% My 19 yr old daughter can even afford the new punto sport.

Well, I have the parts DVD dated 27/04/2005.

For the "Nuovo Panda" it lists the following models:

Actual
Active
Dynamic
Emotion
Treking 4X4
Climbing 4X4
SUV 14

The body parts (front and rear bumpers etc) look identical to those in the pictures posted at the start of the thread by Serin and Alan D.
