General 1.1 Active

Hi Hornet

I had a 1.1 Active as a courtesy car a while back and thought it was brilliant. Despite not being fully run-in, it felt quicker than the usual Punto 1.2 8v and was very, very smooth and refined. Small cars often make most sense at the bottom of the range and the Panda is no exception. If you can get a deal on a 1.2 Dynamic I would go for that (as it is only about £600 more), but if you have an offer (IIRC your misses gets Fiats cheap, so I guess the 1.1 Active is a special) then the 1.1 Active is a brilliant car. Now has ABS so the spec is pretty good. Go for yellow for maximum style (y)

I've got a 1.1 Active at the moment (courtesy car, the Stilo is having new switches :D) and it's not that bad. Got the car up to 110mph (honestly, although it was slighlty downhill) and it seemed to cope very well indeed.

I would agree with JTDMonkey; I've also had the 1.2 Dynamic before, and would pay the extra - I'd prefer the bigger engine, painted bumpers and some cloth on the door trims! Although I am a picky sod :D:D

Saw an Active in Guacamole green on the sea-front at Brean Sands the other week. With it's black bumpers it really does look the 'mutts nuts'. That would be my choice of colour, but Marie wanted to vomit!
