I wonder if anyone can advise whether my 2007 Fiat Panda can use a towing eye from a different model Fiat?
My 2007 Panda recently broke down, but when I looked for the towing eye it seems to have been removed at the last service and not replaced! My local car breakers has loads of Punto's and Stilo's in but no Pandas, so I am wondering whether any of these shared towing eyes? Thanks, Gerry.

Towing eyes are a fairly common part across the Fiat range. ePER shows the same part numbers for Pandas, Puntos and Stilos so you'll be OK with one from the breakers.

I'm assuming your Panda has a square tow eye cover (my 100hp does) The mk2, mk2b and Grande Puntos have round covers so won't fit.
I'm not sure about any other models

It looks like the towing eye I need (Part# 7774731) is shared with a Punto's (99-05) and Stilo's (all years it seems) and Doblo's (04-06) I've searched the ePer on cars that are in stock at my local breaker and I'll report back with what I find fits. As a suggestion, it would be great if a sticky with the 'eye' part number/models fitting could be set up so people could see compatibility straight away, as this vital part is often missing from cars when sold. Many thanks for all the help I received here.

Got back from my local Breaker's (Bridges in Peas Pottage, nr Crawley West Sussex). I found a load of Punto's there and a Stilo or two but no Pandas.
All the Towing eyes were missing bar one from a Year 2000 Punto. I tried this in a 2002 Stilo and it fitted fine. asked if i could try it in my 2007 Panda and It fitted fine too, result! went to pay and was told to put a couple of quid in the Charity box! Cheers Bridges!

NB: If you are wondering why it is so important to ensure you have one of these 'Towing Eyes' in your car at all times - for if you breakdown you'll get relayed with a 'Spectacle Lift' or a low loader anyway, well... That is true, but if you breakdown on a Motorway and you have a 'Towing Eye' handy you'll get hard towed off straight away to somewhere safe (and then relayed), otherwise you will have to wait on the Motorway for a low loader (a rare beast nowadays as the AA/RAC have loads more 'Spectacle Lift' trucks than low loaders) as 'Spectacle Lift' trucks can't deploy on Motorways as it takes too long to setup the lift, and is therefore too dangerous for the operator.
