General Thinking of buying a 100Hp

Hmm indeed!

Good news for the Manc with short arms and deep pockets........there's a 100hp coming up for sale at your local Mannheim car auction on 23 September. You'll be able to get that cheap cos it's rough.

Here's the data sheet.

How did someone get that poor 100HP into a state like that in only 42k miles !?

It is a nice colour, though. I'm quite partial to a grey 100HP :).

It's staggering isn't it? And yet.........the 2011 FIAT 500s I've seen on Mannheim have been worse - grade 5.

I'm with GAVV8 though - get it for a grand and have fun fixing the bits.

They are tough little cars, get it cheap enough and throw a few quid at it and it could be great.
Even if you got it for £1000 - £1500, you'd probably need to throw so much money at it that it'd be better to just buy a decent one to start with. Especially when you take into account that this shed has a "missing" service book, and judging by the state of it, that's probably down to it never having been serviced.

Also, almost every panel seems to be dented, according to the damage report.

All of that aside, this has obviously come from a rough area where whoever owned it couldn't afford to look after it properly or had absolutely no respect for their property and it's missing the central locking key. If I bought it, I'd be keeping it in the garage with something big and heavy blocking it in, for fear of it...errr...."wandering off" back to its previous owner.

Some people have no respect for anything, but that's an entirely different matter, which I could rant about all day (and bore you to death in the process :p).

I reckon it'd cost more than that to fix. Loads of the work (panel dents, alloy refurbs, buying and coding a new central locking key, cambelt and waterpump etc) would need doing by professionals with the right tools. About all a normal person could realistically really fix themselves would be giving the old girl a comprehensive service. I guess you could also do really minor stuff, like buying a new parcel shelf from a breaker's.

I bet the engine in it isn't too healthy either; it wouldn't surprise me if the oil that's in there was put in by Fiat when the car was built.

100HP prices are on the up, wouldn't be surprised if a trader doesn't make a nice profit on that.

It'll get picked up cheap by someone and I expect the service history will 'turn up'.

As for prices.........damn it a white Cross has turned up at Woodleigh. And it has the roof.....and low miles......but it's 9 grand....
